Dear Ardenwood Families,<\/span><\/p>

Hope you had a nice weekend. \u00a0The weather was really nice last week and students enjoyed playing outside. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

However, we have noticed an uptick in students missing the mark on our school rules: \u00a0Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible. \u00a0There have been several instances of\u00a0<\/span>students crossing school boundary lines, running through classroom and dining areas and struggling to resolve conflicts on the playground<\/span>. \u00a0Teachers, staff, noon supervisors and administration are consistently reinforcing the rules with students and supporting them in all of these areas. \u00a0However, as we know, families also play a significant role in ensuring students are good school community citizens. \u00a0Please continue to review our school rules with your Dragon\u2013they may be found\u00a0<\/span>here<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013<\/span>THANK YOU!!! \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

With only three days to go until Spring break, let\u2019s make this a good week! \u00a0There is no school for students this Thursday and Friday.\u00a0<\/strong> Spring Break begins on Thursday, March 28th and we will return to school on\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Monday, April 8th! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Ardenwood Highlights & Happenings<\/span><\/p>

RAMADAN –\u00a0<\/span>Thanks to our families and PTA for providing a space for students who are fasting during Ramadan. \u00a0Students have really enjoyed going to\u00a0<\/span>room 33\u00a0<\/span>during lunch to play games, enjoy craft activities and more. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The space will be available throughout the month of Ramadan. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

STUDENT COUNCIL –<\/span>. Thanks to all who donated gently-used books to our book sale. \u00a0We raised over $500 for the school library!<\/span><\/p>

ARDENWOOD SCHOOL CONCERT –\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It\u2019s almost here! \u00a0This\u00a0<\/span>Tuesday, March 26th at 7 pm<\/span>\u00a0is our Annual Spring Music Concert. \u00a0Join us to enjoy some really wonderful music\u2013a reminder, this event is primarily for parents and guardians of the students who are performing. \u00a0Our students will enjoy a rehearsal performance earlier the same day. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

TEACHER OF THE YEAR AND ARDENWOOD SPOTLIGHT –\u00a0<\/span>Congratulations to Ardenwood’s Teacher of the Year, Ms. Gambhir.<\/strong>\u00a0 She is a compassionate, hard-working, team player, and we are so grateful and proud to have her on our team. \u00a0She will be honored at this week\u2019s FUSD Board Meeting on\u00a0<\/strong>Wednesday, March 27th.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 At the same meeting, we will also share Ardenwood’s Spotlight Presentation,<\/strong> including a profile of our school and highlights of some of our major accomplishments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Spring Festival is Coming to Ardenwood –<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Bring your empty stomachs and crafty hands to the Spring Festival! \u00a0 PTA will be providing all current students with a voucher for a FREE\u00a0<\/span>M<\/span>ister Softee<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>or\u00a0<\/span>Loard\u2019s Ice Cream<\/span><\/a>\u00a0at the festival (more details to come). \u00a0 Additional ice cream vouchers and food will also be available for purchase. \u00a0Food trucks\u00a0<\/span>Waffle Roost<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Yeeshaan\u2019s Grubb<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Rincon del Cielo Taqueria<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will be present\u2014please see their websites and menus for vegetarian and halal options available. \u00a0 Admission is free and the event is open to the community, so invite your friends and family. \u00a0Craft and game stations will be set up around the school for an evening of fun and food. \u00a0Can\u2019t wait to see you there!<\/span><\/p>

School Rule Reminders\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

START OF THE SCHOOL DAY<\/span>\u00a0–\u00a0<\/span>If your student arrives at school before 8:14 am, please remain with them until the 8:14 am bell rings and then they may proceed to the playground (students only, no parents or guardians should come onto campus).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0An exception for students who come to school and eat breakfast–they may enter campus at 8:05 am but must head straight to the MPR. They should eat breakfast, dispose of their trash and remain in the MPR until 8:14 am. \u00a0At that time, students may proceed to the playground where staff is supervising until the 8:24 am bell. \u00a0 When the bell rings, students should walk to their line up location. \u00a0<\/span>For your review, here again is our\u00a0<\/span>Rainy Day Procedure<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

DROP OFFS<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>– Teachers and staff are focused on supporting our 600+ Dragons each and every day.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Consequently,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>we ask that you refrain from dropping off lunches, water bottles and other items for delivery to students.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 A reminder\u2013all Dragons have access to free breakfast and lunch as well as water fountains here on campus\u2013we recently had a new water bottle filling station installed! \u00a0If your child forgets their homework, please have them check-in with their teacher regarding late submission. \u00a0Of course, if you need to drop off eyeglasses or any type of medication for your student, please let us know as we will certainly make exceptions for these items. \u00a0Please support our Dragons in following our Ardenwood school rule of being responsible. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

TRAFFIC SAFETY<\/span>\u00a0 –\u00a0<\/span>Thanks to all families who have helped us increase safety on campus by focusing on traffic rules.<\/span>\u00a0 Local authorities continue to visit our campus regularly to support us in this area and in some cases, they issue traffic citations. \u00a0<\/span>Please follow traffic safety rules and comply with regulations.<\/span><\/p>
