{"id":190873,"date":"2024-04-09T14:32:24","date_gmt":"2024-04-09T21:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/ardenwood\/news\/weekly-updates-reminders-april-8th\/"},"modified":"2024-04-19T15:38:21","modified_gmt":"2024-04-19T22:38:21","slug":"weekly-updates-reminders-april-8th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/ardenwood\/news\/weekly-updates-reminders-april-8th\/","title":{"rendered":"<div>Weekly Updates &#038; Reminders  &#8211; April 8th<\/div>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n<p>Dear Ardenwood Families,<\/p>\n<p>Hope you had a nice Spring break. \u00a0As we return to campus, here are a few reminders and updates: \u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nSpirit Day Update\u00a0&#8211; Our next School Spirit Day has been shifted from tomorrow,\u00a0Monday, April 8th, to Earth Day on\u00a0Monday, April 22nd.\u00a0 Dragons-please wear blue or green on 4\/22 in support of our planet. \u00a0Thanks for your flexibility!\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Spring Picture Day is this Thursday, April 11th!<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSchool Rules\u00a0&#8211; Please review our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/ardenwood\/about\/policies\/ardenwood-behavior-rules\/\">Ardenwood school rules<\/a>\u00a0with your Dragon before we return to campus. \u00a0Reminding students of our rules supports a safe and successful return to school! \u00a0\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSolar Eclipse\u00a0&#8211; Tomorrow,\u00a0Monday, April 8th,\u00a0there will be a total solar eclipse across North America. The viewing window in Fremont is projected to\u00a0occur\u00a0between 10:13 am to 12:16 pm. \u00a0Please know that our teachers and staff members will offer Dragons frequent reminders\u00a0not to look directly at the sun\u00a0as this is very dangerous for our eyes during an eclipse.\u00a0\u00a0Please offer this same reminder at home both today and tomorrow morning.\u00a0 \u00a0Classroom teachers will have varied approaches and learning opportunities around the topic of eclipses. \u00a0For more information, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/news\/april-8-solar-eclipse\/\">this page<\/a>\u00a0on the FUSD website.\u00a0\n<\/li>\n<li>\nField Study Trips\u00a0&#8211; There are a number of field trips happening over the next two months. \u00a0Please make sure you have communicated with your student&#8217;s teacher and submitted all of the required paperwork.\u00a0\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ardenwood Highlights &amp; Happenings<\/p>\n<p>RAMADAN &#8211;\u00a0Thanks to our families and PTA for providing a space for students who are fasting during Ramadan. \u00a0Students have really enjoyed going to\u00a0room 33\u00a0to play games, enjoy craft activities and more. \u00a0\u00a0This space will remain open through the end of Ramadan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>OPEN HOUSE &#8211;\u00a0We are so excited to welcome everyone to\u00a0Ardenwood&#8217;s Open House, next Tuesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. \u00a0Come out and see all of the amazing work our Dragons have been doing this year! \u00a0And please stop by the MPR to learn more about how you can support our PTA \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BOOK FAIR &#8211;\u00a0Dragons are voracious readers-from our book club, to class library visits and our school book fairs. \u00a0 Our spring in-person event is\u00a0Monday, April 15th &#8211; Friday April 19th.\u00a0 \u00a0Plan to stop by and do a bit of shopping! \u00a0 Thanks to our amazing librarian, Mrs. Sayd-stay tuned for more details!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>REGISTRATION &amp; ENROLLMENT 2024 &#8211; 2025\u00a0&#8211; The season of registration and enrollment is in full swing! \u00a0Please remember to complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/ardenwood\/news\/important-24-25-registration-information\/\">Annual Residency Verification<\/a>\u00a0to ensure your student&#8217;s enrollment &#8220;rolls over&#8221; for the next school year. \u00a0Once you have completed the process, you will receive a confirmation email from &#8220;InformedK12.&#8221; \u00a0Questions? Whether it&#8217;s social events, enrichment programs, or campus improvements, we&#8217;d love to hear your feedback on PTA priorities for the coming year. \u00a0 Please stop by our table in the MPR during\u00a0Open House (4\/16), visit this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1qxnmG6q_WsxhyBnSyq-id21dMmKSEnG2\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>\u00a0to learn more and share your information via this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/S9621Rmp1tvejP636\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">form.<\/a>\u00a0 We will reach out to you with opportunities that fit your schedule and availability!<\/p>\n<p>Spring Festival is Coming to Ardenwood &#8211;\u00a0Come out and enjoy food, fun, family, friends and more at the Ardenwood Spring Festival! \u00a0 PTA will be providing all current students with a voucher for a FREE\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mistersoftee.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mister Softee<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/loards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loard&#8217;s Ice Cream<\/a>\u00a0at the festival (more details to come). \u00a0 Additional ice cream vouchers and food will also be available for purchase. \u00a0Food trucks\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thewaffleroost.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Waffle Roost<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yeeshaansgrubb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yeeshaan&#8217;s Grubb<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rincondelcielotaqueria.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rincon del Cielo Taqueria<\/a>\u00a0will be on site-please visit their websites for menus and available vegetarian and halal options. \u00a0 Admission is free and the event is open to the community, so invite your friends and family. \u00a0Craft and game stations will be set up around the school-hope to see you there!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/ps-feeds-production\/inline_images_1712533954844-1712533954844.png\" width=\"212\" height=\"163\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>School Reminders\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>START OF THE SCHOOL DAY\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0If your student arrives at school before 8:14 am, please remain with them until the 8:14 am bell rings and then they may proceed to the playground (students only, no parents or guardians should come onto campus).\u00a0\u00a0An exception for students who come to school and eat breakfast&#8211;they may enter campus at 8:05 am but must head straight to the MPR.
