Greetings Blacow Families,<\/p>\n

My name is Mr. Labasan and I am the Prep Specialist for the Physical Education Department for the 2018-2019 school year.\u00a0 I am very proud of the growth we experienced during my 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0year as the PE instructor here at Blacow Elementary.\u00a0 I am extremely excited to start my 3nd<\/sup>\u00a0year at Blacow Elementary and I will continue to challenge both myself and our students, as I continue this progress and maintain the integration of the PE curriculum with the California state standards for physical education.\u00a0 It is the firm belief of this department, the Blacow administration, and the Fremont Unified School District that a vigorous, challenging, well organized, standards based PE curriculum can benefit students in all facets of their educational journey, as well as with their physical and emotional growth.<\/p>\n

Please help your child be the best scholar they can be in PE by following these simple tips:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Students should wear tennis shoes\/sneakers to school. \u00a0Even on days when your child does not have PE, they will still have opportunities to be active at school. \u00a0Elementary aged children need to play and be active EVERY day.<\/li>\n
  2. If there is a health\/medical reason that prevents your student from participating in PE, please make sure to send a note with your child explaining why. \u00a0A parental note will excuse a student from one week’s worth of classes. \u00a0If your child will be out for a longer period of time, please provide a doctor’s note explaining why the student is out and when they can return.<\/li>\n
  3. Please help remind your child about the importance of hydration. \u00a0Students are reminded that they should be drinking a minimum of 4 large glasses of water daily.<\/li>\n
  4. Lastly, we ask that you support your child’s motivation and attitude toward PE by encouraging them to be active in their personal lives, helping them make good nutritional choices and engaging them as to what they are learning and doing in PE class.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Blacow Elementary strives to create a safe, fun, and challenging learning environment for all Physical Education students.\u00a0 As a community of students, teachers, support staff, administrators, and parents, we will together embark on and have a highly successful 2018-2019 school year!<\/p>\nSincerely,
