Our school has been filled with a lot of holiday spirit! We just finished our winter concert led by our wonderful Music teacher, Ms. Sampson. Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for decorating and organizing. Students are doing a lot of classroom activities in celebration of this year ending and preparing for the winter break. We see a lot of parents coming in and out of the office volunteering in the classrooms. Thank you for making this school so special.<\/div>\n
With the last week before the winter break, we wish you a very merry holiday to the Bringhurst families.<\/div>\n

School Year 2024\/2025 Update<\/div>\n
Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) provides support for gifted and talented (GATE) students through differentiated instruction. We believe that differentiated instruction not only serves the needs of our exceptional students, but also enhances the entire educational program for all students.<\/div>\n
In February of 2020, funding for the CogAT testing was cut as part of the budget savings. While the CogAT testing has been the primary means of qualifying students for GATE identification we are now in the process of identifying an alternative way of identifying students. There will not be a test for GATE eligibility given this year.<\/div>\n
\nDuring the 2024\/2025 school year\u00a0we will continue to identify 5th\u00a0grade students\u00a0<\/strong>who\u00a0were not identified<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in an earlier grade. These students may be considered for GATE identification through the professional judgement process.\u00a0Teachers<\/a>\u00a0and\/or\u00a0parents<\/a>\u00a0may nominate a student. A completed nomination form must be submitted by the teacher or parent to the school Principal\u00a0by December 16, 2024.<\/strong>\u00a0Principals will set up meetings with the teacher, student, and parent to discuss the student\u2019s eligibility for GATE identification.<\/div>\n
