Just like that, we have wrapped up our second trimester! Reminder to all parents that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow on Friday 3\/13, and students do not come back from spring break until Monday 3\/23.<\/div>\n
After we come back from spring break, we are officially in the last stretch of the school year. We will be gearing up for state testing, major fieldtrips, and lots of end-of-the-year activities. We want to thank parents in advance for supporting our students and teachers to make these events successful and memorable.<\/div>\n

This year's bookfair was another success. It is one of our most popular events of the year as the kids enjoy browsing and looking at cool books. Thank you to all of our volunteers who came to help through out the week, and for all the families who came out during the family night event to support Bringhurst's library!<\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n

In celebration of Read Across America week, our 4th graders had the opportunity to visit \u201cStarbooks,\u201d a fun, caf\u00e9-themed reading experience. Students ordered a drink, enjoyed some snacks, and spent time reading books recommended by their classmates and teachers. It was a wonderful way to celebrate reading and build excitement around books! A big shout-out goes to Kim Martin<\/strong>, our 4th grade teacher who spearheaded this event, as well as our incredible parent volunteers Sree, Christine, Elaine, Stacey, Pavana, Sharon, Shrisha,<\/strong> and Sherry<\/strong>, who spent hours decorating, setting up books, and helping make the caf\u00e9 come to life. We truly couldn\u2019t have done this without your time and support. Thank you for helping create such a special experience for our students!\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n

Since March is Women\u2019s History Month and 4th graders just came back from a StopWaste field trip, students reused waste materials from home to create a Women\u2019s History door display. They made picture frames using recycled materials and included pictures of inspiring women along with explanations of why these women inspire them.<\/div>\n

The display was placed in the hallway so that students passing by could learn about these influential women. Through this project, students learned that waste materials can be reused to create something meaningful while also sharing knowledge and inspiration with others. The recycled picture frames also showed how reused materials can be turned into art or used to present importance.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n

We had a local author - Ms Stefanie Gamarra - visit our TK - 3rd graders. She explained how ideas are published through books and read one of her books! Thank you so much PTO for sponsoring this event!<\/div><\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n

Respecting Personal Boundaries<\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n

Recently, we have seen an increase in incidents where students are pulling down each other\u2019s pants or attempting to expose private parts during play. Even if meant as a joke, this behavior is not appropriate and will not be tolerated at school<\/strong>. Our staff addresses these incidents seriously because every student deserves to feel safe and respected.<\/div>\n

We ask for your partnership in speaking with your child about respecting body boundaries. Please remind them that private parts are private<\/strong>, and exposing or pulling down someone\u2019s clothing is not a joke and is unacceptable behavior.<\/div>\n
