{"id":190650,"date":"2023-11-13T15:10:40","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T23:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/brookvale\/?p=190650"},"modified":"2025-01-30T15:48:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-30T23:48:48","slug":"bronco-november-2023-news-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/brookvale\/news\/bronco-november-2023-news-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"BRONCO NOVEMBER 2023 NEWS UPDATES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Brookvale Parent Teacher Conference Week<\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>Brookvale School Parent Teacher Conferences are taking place this week, Monday 11\/13 &#8211; Friday 11\/17\/23.\u00a0 Please contact your child&#8217;s teacher for questions or date reminders.<\/p><p><strong>Early Dismissal Days this week: \u00a0Tuesday 11\/14 &#8211; Friday 11\/17\/23\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Kindergarten:\u00a0 \u00a08:20 a.m. &#8211; 11:46 a.m.<br \/>Grades 1 \u2013 5:    8:30 a.m. &#8211; 1:30 p.m.<\/p><p><strong><em>Please plan to pick your child up on time in front of the school office\/flag pole area.\u00a0 If you have arranged for an after school pick up service, please be sure to remind them that this is an early dismissal week.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong><u>Dorian Picture Make-Up Day is Tuesday, November 14th<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p><p>Picture make-up day is for students who missed the original picture day on September 29<sup>th<\/sup> and for those students who paid for a picture package but want to trade it in for a re-take.<\/p><ul><li>On picture day, please send your child to school <u>with the packet they will be returning<\/u> and let them know to tell their teacher they need a re-take.<\/li><li>Parents may pre-order\/pay online in advance. Visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mydorian.com\/order\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">com\/order<\/a>to choose your background and learn more.<\/li><\/ul><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong><u>Reporting Your Student\u2019s \u00a0Absence<\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>As we approach the winter season it is important to remember that daily attendance remains important. Please do not schedule trips outside of the window of days off (November 18 &#8211; November 26 and December 23 &#8211; January 7). Even a few missed days can lead to confusion when returning to class as well as lost social time with friends.\u00a0<\/p><p>Please also note, Public Health guidelines call for students to stay home from school only when they have a fever, diarrhea, or are vomiting. For guidance as to when to keep your child home, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.attendanceworks.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Health_Guidance_Handout_2023_AW_080723.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health Guidance for Going to School<\/a>.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.attendanceworks.org\/resources\/messaging\/holiday-messaging\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.attendanceworks.org\/resources\/messaging\/holiday-messaging\/<\/a><\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Contact the school office to report your child absent by following the prompts and leaving a message.\u00a0 Please speak <em>clearly<\/em> and leave your child\u2019s FIRST and LAST NAME, TEACHER\u2019S NAME, GRADE and REASON FOR THE ABSENCE: Ill, out of town, etc. Please identify yourself as the parent\/guardian and state your name.
