Updated Soccer Schedule!<\/b><\/p>

Soccer is now open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders!<\/span><\/p>

ALL students must have a permission slip and sports physical clearance form submitted to the office by <\/span>Friday,<\/b> March 1st<\/b> in order to try out.\u00a0 No exceptions will be made to this requirement.\u00a0 All physicals need to be dated April 11, 2023 – present to be accepted.<\/span><\/p>

Soccer tryouts are open to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders only.<\/span><\/p>

Alameda County Bike Mobile!<\/b><\/p>

The Alameda County Bike Mobile is returning to Brookvale.\u00a0 Friday, March 15th from 3 – 5 pm.\u00a0 Come with your bike. Bike repairs:\u00a0 flat tires, brakes, shifters and bike education is available.\u00a0 Space is limited.\u00a0 First come, first served.<\/span><\/p>

Residency Verification Forms Due!<\/b><\/p>

On January 29th\u00a0 you will receive an email from <\/span>Informed K12<\/span><\/i> regarding the required annual Residency Verification.\u00a0 The email will include a form that includes your student’s information.\u00a0 You will need to upload two <\/span>current <\/span><\/i>proofs of residency (within the previous 30 days.)\u00a0 Please do not upload your ID\/driver’s license as this is not considered an acceptable proof of residency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Once you sign and submit the form, it will go directly to your child’s current school of attendance for processing.<\/span><\/p>

If you do not see the email, please check your SPAM\/junk email folders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Attendance Counts!<\/b><\/p>

This is the time of year when winter weather takes a toll on school attendance. Road conditions and rain can make it hard to get your children to school. So can illnesses such as colds, flu, fevers, earaches, and COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>

These absences, even if they are excused, break the routine of daily attendance which can impact students feeling connected and engaged in learning. Please consider these steps to keep your children healthy and in school this winter.<\/span><\/p>

  1. <\/span> Develop back up plans for getting your children to school.<\/b> Check who can give your children a ride if you can\u2019t take them, or form a \u201cwalking school bus\u201d to walk to school with other families.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  2. <\/span> If your children get sick <\/b>or you are concerned about Covid or the flu, talk to your child\u2019s medical provider or the school nurse for advice.<\/span><\/li>
  3. <\/span> Stomach pain and headaches can be signs of anxiety and may not be reasons for keeping a child home. <\/b>If you feel that anxiety or stress is playing a role, talk to your child\u2019s teacher, the school nurse, counselor or your medical provider about how best to support your child.<\/span><\/li>
  4. <\/span> Encourage children to wash their hands <\/b>before and after eating and after using the restroom.<\/span><\/li>
  5. \u00a0 <\/span>Encourage healthy habits<\/b> such as getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, drinking fluids and getting exercise.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol>
