Student placement is a complex process with many variables that must be considered. The following criteria are used in order to accomplish the placement of students: academic needs, behavior needs, program needs, ethnic balance, student language needs, and gender balance. We will not accept requests for specific teachers. If you would like to give input regarding your child\u2019s educational needs, you must use the online\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe1oTAxgnoJxUCpGOEOuLUEDbqbJo0wrgCGpF2MSGIFq6MuWw\/viewform?usp=sf_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>Student Placement Consideration Form<\/span><\/a><span>. \u00a0This link is for Brookvale ONLY. Road conditions and rain can make it hard to get your children to school. So can illnesses such as colds, flu, fevers, earaches, and COVID-19.<\/span><\/p><p><span>These absences, even if they are excused, break the routine of daily attendance which can impact students feeling connected and engaged in learning. Please consider these steps to keep your children healthy and in school this winter.<\/span><\/p><p><span>1. \u00a0<\/span><span>    <\/span><span>Develop back up plans for getting your children to school.<\/span><span>\u00a0Check who can give your children a ride if you can\u2019t take them, or form a \u201cwalking school bus\u201d to walk to school with other families. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span>2.<\/span><span>    <\/span><span>If your children get sick\u00a0<\/span><span>or you are concerned about Covid or the flu, talk to your child\u2019s medical provider or the school nurse for advice.<\/span><\/p><p><span>3.<\/span><span>    <\/span><span>\u00a0Stomach pain and headaches can be signs of anxiety and may not be reasons for keeping a child home.\u00a0<\/span><span>If you feel that anxiety or stress is playing a role, talk to your child\u2019s teacher, the school nurse, counselor or your medical provider about how best to support your child.<\/span><\/p><p><span>4.<\/span><span>    <\/span><span>Encourage children to wash their hands\u00a0<\/span><span>before and after eating and after using the restroom.<\/span><\/p><p><span>5. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span>Encourage healthy habits<\/span><span>\u00a0such as getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, drinking fluids and getting exercise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span>Let us know how we can help you.
