{"id":191031,"date":"2024-07-15T17:07:26","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T00:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/durham\/?page_id=191031"},"modified":"2024-07-15T20:15:30","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T03:15:30","slug":"drop-off-pick-up-procedures","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/durham\/about\/welcome\/drop-off-pick-up-procedures\/","title":{"rendered":"Drop-off &#038; Pick-up Procedures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z3xNLbKd9aw?si=aVs2OdWmWLJyxgZG\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>DROP OFF, PICK UP, PARKING, &amp; STUDENT TRANSPORTATION<\/b><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b><i>All 1-5 students may be dropped off 15 minutes before the start of their school day using the designated drop off loops. <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TK\/K students can be dropped off 10 minutes before school begins and enter through the Kinder black gate near Rm. 2 and Leslie St. Gr. 1-3 students enter through the black gate near the bulletin boards on the flagpole loop, while Gr. 4-5 students are dropped off on the\u00a0 bus\u00a0 loop\u00a0 and\u00a0 use\u00a0 the\u00a0 walkway\u00a0 toward the library. <\/span><b>Students will be<\/b> <b>considered\u00a0 late\u00a0 if\u00a0 they\u00a0 are not inside their classrooms or with their<\/b> <b>designated teacher by the start of the instructional day (8:30 am for Gr.<\/b> <b>1-5).<\/b><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">During pick up, TK and K students must be picked up by authorized adults from their classroom doors\/gates. More specific information on pick up procedures for TK\/K students will be sent home.<br \/><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please be courteous to other drivers, follow directions given by our traffic patrol staff, and drive safely. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students being driven to and from school must be dropped<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">off or picked up on the yellow curb side only<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After unloading\/loading students, drivers can then exit using the outer lane. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drivers should not cut in line. <\/span><b>Drivers<\/b> <b>should never get out of their cars. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please wait patiently for the cars ahead to move forward. School buses have the right of way on the designated bus loop at all times.<\/span> <b><i>In Alameda County, fines are doubled for traffic violations in<\/i><\/b> <b><i>school zones.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Parents\/Guardians<\/b><b>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visitors or volunteers must have both the teacher and the principal\u2019s approval before they are allowed on campus, unless dropping off students or going to the office. One visitor\/volunteer per class.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If an office visit is necessary, please park on the street or on the parking designated for visitors if you intend to walk your child to the drop off area. Always use the crosswalk when crossing the street. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not park in areas with numbers<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 these are reserved for staff use only.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bicycles\/skateboards may be used as transportation. They may not be ridden on campus or on the sidewalk in front of the school. <\/span><b>Helmets are required by law<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bicycles must be locked on the bike rack. Skateboards, roller skate shoes, and rollerblades may not be worn or ridden on campus (these remain in the office).
