Dear Hopkins Students and Families,

What a fun-filled week with back-to-back events: HAWK ON Assembly and Hawk-O-Ween Social! Thank you PFA, parent volunteers, Leadership/ASB students, Madame Chabot, and Assistant Principal Mrs. Moore!

Halloween Costume Guidelines: We want students to have a safe and fun Halloween if they choose to celebrate. Please follow these guidelines:

  1. No masks that cover the whole face or make students unregcognizable. Staff members must be able to identify students.

  2. Weapons, real or fake, are not allowed.

  3. Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, gender, sexuality, heritage, or religion are not permitted.

  4. Costumes should not hinder your ability to participate in your classes; costumes may not present safety issues in the hallway.

  5. District dress code still applies.

Lunchtime Halloween Concert on 10/31: Our Advanced Orchestra students and Mr. Sarten would like to invite all students to check out their spooooky concert on Thursday, 10/31, at the start of lunch right between MUR and the Library.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration on 11/1: Our Spanish Immersion students, Maestras Hernandez and Perez, and parent volunteers would like to invite all students to celebrate the event during lunchtime @ C-nest. Enjoy the fun and learning activities through music, face painting, loteria, ofrendas, and more!

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences on 10/30 and 11/6: We encourage students to attend with parents/guardians so they have an opportunity to be a part of planning for next steps towards improvement and success in the conferences on 10/30 and 11/6, or if you have a meeting outside of those dates. On 10/30, parking will be very limited due to both in-person conferences and PFA-sponsored Diwali celebration at the MUR. Please carpool or walk to our campus if possible.

Minimum Day on 10/30 and 11/6: School ends at 12:35 PM on both days to allow time for parent-teacher-student conferences.

Library’s After-School Closure on 10/30: Our Library will be closed after school on Wednesday, 10/30, due to meetings scheduled. Please make alternate arrangements for pickups.

PFA-sponsored Diwali Celebration on 10/30: Our PFA Boad and volunteers have been working hard prepping for a Diwali Celebration with art, performances, fashion, and food! All Hopkins families are welcome to the event.
