If you would like to learn how you can volunteer at Mattos, please contact your child&#8217;s teacher and\/or Mattos Principal, Sherea Westra, at <a href=\"mailto:swestra@fusdk12.net\">swestra@fusdk12.net<\/a> All volunteers must complete a CivicCore application and have it approved by our office staff. Please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/mattos\/students-community\/connections\/\">FUSD Community Connections<\/a> website for more details on completing the required application. In addition, all Mattos volunteers are required to check in and out at the office, wear a &#8220;Volunteer&#8221; sticker\/badge while on campus, and must follow all site-specific protocols.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers without clearance to independently supervise students must remain under the supervision and direction of a designated certificated employee while working with students.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers who independently supervise students (such as when driving or coaching students) must submit an application through <a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.civicore.com\/index.php?section=application&amp;action=new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CiviCore<\/a>, and may need to meet additional requirements, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Volunteers who are transporting students must submit proof of insurance.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Volunteers who are independently supervising students must undergo fingerprinting and a background check.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Volunteer coaches must undergo fingerprinting and a background check, and must submit proof of a negative TB test from within the last year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reference: <a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=49024.&amp;lawCode=EDC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California Education Code 49024<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our Mattos PTA has many volunteer opportunities that provide a positive impact in the lives of our students and staff.
