{"id":191642,"date":"2025-09-19T14:15:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T21:15:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/msje\/news\/student-council-speeches-and-voting\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T14:15:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T21:15:27","slug":"student-council-speeches-and-voting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/msje\/news\/student-council-speeches-and-voting\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Council Speeches and Voting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><div style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Hello 4th and 5th Grade Families,<\/div><div style=\"line-height:1.15;\"><br><\/div><div style=\"line-height:1.15;\">If your 4th or 5th grade student is running for a student council position, please read this information carefully.<\/div><div style=\"line-height:1.15;\"><br><\/div><div style=\"line-height:1.15;\"><strong>Speech week starts on Monday, September 22. <\/strong><\/div><br><div style=\"line-height:1.15;margin-left:20px;\">Speech Week Schedule:<\/div><div style=\"margin-left:20px;\"><br><\/div><ul><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\">\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Monday (9\/22): President and Sergeant of Arms<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Tuesday (9\/23): Vice President (all VP candidates need to be ready on this day)<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Wednesday (9\/24): Vice President (remaining speeches)<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Thursday (9\/25): Secretary<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Friday (9\/26): Treasurer<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/ul><div style=\"line-height:1.15;margin-left:20px;\"><br><\/div><p style=\"line-height:1.15;margin-left:20px;\">Speech Guidelines:<\/p><ul><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\">\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Speech must be 60 seconds or less<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Speech should be grade-level appropriate<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Speech should focus on why the student is a good candidate for the position.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Speech should not include false promises or inaccurate information.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/ul><div style=\"line-height:1.15;margin-left:20px;\"><br><\/div><p style=\"line-height:1.15;margin-left:20px;\">Campaigning during Speech Week:\u00a0<\/p><ul style=\"margin-left:20px;\"><li><p style=\"line-height:1.15;\">Students can continue to keep posters up and campaign during Speech Week.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><br><strong>Voting is on Tuesday, September 30.
