{"id":110,"date":"2023-05-08T15:39:47","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T15:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fusd.dev.apppresser.com\/oliveira\/safety-tips-for-parents\/"},"modified":"2023-09-13T13:00:11","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T20:00:11","slug":"safety-tips-for-parents","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/oliveira\/about\/policies\/safety-at-oliveira\/safety-tips-for-parents\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety Tips for Parents"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>If a major earthquake or disaster occurs in Fremont during school hours, Oliveira Elementary has a Disaster Plan that will be put into effect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our goals for emergencies are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To prepare students and staff before a disaster occurs.<\/li>\n<li>To provide orderly accounting and release of students after a disaster.<\/li>\n<li>To provide shelter for students until they can be released to authorized adult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What Parents Should Do After A Disaster:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>DON&#8217;T PANIC\u00a0Your child will be kept safe until you arrive.<\/li>\n<li>DO NOT PHONE THE SCHOOL\u00a0Office staff is needed as emergency personnel.<\/li>\n<li>WALK OR RIDE A BICYCLE to school to avoid creating traffic jams.<\/li>\n<li>GO TO THE BLACKTOP AREA and look for the Command Center on the school field.<\/li>\n<li>SIGN THE RELEASE FORM:\u00a0Bring a picture ID (if possible)<\/li>\n<li>IF SCHOOL HAS BEEN EVACUATED, look for posted note outside to see the new location.<\/li>\n<li>FOOD, WATER &amp; EMERGENCY SUPPLIES are in the shipping container by room 29.<\/li>\n<li>DURING A LOCK-DOWN (Intruder on Campus):\u00a0Listen to the news.\u00a0Do not come to the school until it is announced that it&#8217;s safe.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Questions &amp; Answers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What should parents do if a disaster happens prior to school starting?\u00a0Keep children home.<\/li>\n<li>What should parents do if a disaster occurs while they are being dropped off?\u00a0Keep your children with you.\u00a0Follow protocol if you are separated from them.<\/li>\n<li>What should parents do if a disaster happens during school:\u00a0What if they have students at different schools?\u00a0Follow protocol.\u00a0Discuss rendezvous plan with family and friends.\u00a0Establish a plan with family\/friends to\u00a0each go to one school first.<\/li>\n<li>What should parents do if a disaster occurs while they are picking up students?\u00a0Follow directions above.<\/li>\n<li>What should parents do if they see something or someone unusual at school?\u00a0Report it to the Office or police.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>How Parents Can Help Keep Our School Safe:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Report to the Office and get a volunteer\/visitor sticker when visiting campus.
