Hello Parkmont Families and Community,\u00a0<\/div>\n

I'd like to start our newsletter sending out my gratitude to all of our families that sent a message to staff members before our fall break. I've shared your kind words with every staff member. We cannot post all of the kind words here, but one comment seemed to sum up everyone's feelings, \"I am truly grateful for the care and dedication shown by all the teachers at Parkmont Elementary School. Knowing they are in such capable hands makes me feel both safe and happy. Thank you for creating such a positive and nurturing environment for them to grow and Learn.\" I could not have said this better myself!<\/div>\n

Also a huge thanks to all who contributed snacks during conference week. Everything was so delicious and greatly appreciated.<\/div>\n

This month our character traits center around planning and decision making. Planning and decision making for kids involves\u00a0giving children opportunities to practice making choices by providing them with options, encouraging them to consider consequences, and guiding them through a process of assessing situations, gathering information, and evaluating potential solutions, all while allowing them to learn from their mistakes and build responsibility for their choices;\u00a0essentially, teaching them to think critically about their actions and the potential outcomes.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Recently students received their report cards., This may be a good time to encourage goal setting and develop plans to meet those goals.<\/div>\n

Congratulations to our basketball team players. In order for our teams to play, we must have a volunteer referee for each of our games. Please contact me if you are considering taking on this responsibility for our Panthers. Below is information regarding this opportunity. <\/div>\n

My congratulations to our students who were selected for our Parkmont Boys and Girls\u00a0Basketball\u00a0team. A huge thanks to coach Steve for making this commitment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n

I'm reaching out to our Pasrkmont community to recruit a volunteer\u00a0referee. In order for teams to participate we must commit\u00a0to supplying one\u00a0referee\u00a0per game. In the past we have tried to hire\u00a0referees\u00a0and have\u00a0met with difficulties in consistent\u00a0referees\u00a0showing\u00a0up and in meeting the expense of hiring a\u00a0referee\u00a0company.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n

We are no longer allowed to have people just \"fill in\" as a\u00a0referee\u00a0anymore as well.\u00a0<\/div>\n

We are asking if any parents would like to be our volunteer\u00a0referee\u00a0or know of someone that would be willing to\u00a0referee\u00a0for all of our games.<\/div>\n

Our volunteer\u00a0referee\u00a0will need to be cleared through our Civicore process ) including Live Scan Fingerprinting, and TB Test) and need to complete online courses.\u00a0<\/div>\n

The time for the entire coursework is 2.5 hours. Here is the breakdown of courses:<\/div>\n
