{"id":51,"date":"2023-05-08T15:41:35","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T15:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fusd.dev.apppresser.com\/thornton\/theatre-club\/"},"modified":"2023-09-14T11:53:04","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T18:53:04","slug":"theatre-club","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/thornton\/students-community\/activities-athletics\/theatre-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Theater Club"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>The purpose of this organization is to foster appreciation, knowledge, and support of the performing arts, particularly theatre arts. \u00a0Activities vary each school year.\u00a0 Past activities have included:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Meeting at lunchtime<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Playing theatre games<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Sponsoring lunch activities &amp; contests<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Making club t-shirts<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Caroling at holiday time for a local retirement community<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Celebrating Shakespeare&#8217;s birthday and more!!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Meeting times:<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong> Lunchtime. \u00a0Meetings are announced in the student bulletin.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Upcoming Activities:<\/strong><\/em> More information about all of these events will be provided later in the year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>TBD-Middle Stage Fest!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Middle Stage Fest is a theatre competition for 6<sup>th<\/sup>-8<sup>th<\/sup> graders from around California.\u00a0 It is so much fun!\u00a0 Prepare a monologue, scene, or original piece to perform.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>TBD-School Play!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I know lots of you will want to be involved with the play!\u00a0 Theatre club members are not required to do the school play.\u00a0 You do not have to be a member of the theatre club to be in the play.\u00a0 Cast members will be determined by audition; crew members will be determined by the application.\u00a0 Audition and application dates will be announced later.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Theatre Club Dance! (tentative)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Theatre Club hopes to sponsor a dance this year!\u00a0 Plan to set up, clean up, and boogie down!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Theatre Club coordinator:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Ms. Monica Sousa<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Participants:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Thornton Theatre Club is open to <strong>all<\/strong> students, faculty, and staff of Thornton Junior High School!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Donations:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Though it is not required for membership, it would be greatly appreciated if you are able to make a small donation to Theatre Club.\u00a0 Donations will be used to support our club activities.\u00a0 Please put cash in an envelope with the student&#8217;s full legal name on the outside.\u00a0 Checks should be made payable to FUSD\/ThorntonJunior\u00a0High.
