This is the first time the school, which serves approximately 655 students in grades 3-5 in the Fremont Unified School District, has received this national recognition.\nThe National Blue Ribbon Schools (NBRS) program recognizes schools based on overall high academic achievement or success in closing the achievement gap among diverse groups of students. Schools are identified and nominated by their state&#8217;s department of education, and then may apply to the U.S. Department of Education for the award and undergo a rigorous review process.\n<a href=\"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/warmsprings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warm Springs Elementary<\/a>\u00a0was selected in the Exemplary High Performing Schools category, and was nominated by the California Department of Education based on student academic achievement measures and progress as measured by annual state testing.
