{"id":103,"date":"2023-05-08T15:44:49","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T15:44:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fusd.dev.apppresser.com\/washington\/community-college-and-junior-transfers\/"},"modified":"2024-06-03T16:13:22","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T23:13:22","slug":"community-college-and-junior-transfers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fremontunified.org\/washington\/students-community\/student-support\/college-and-career-resource-center\/community-college-and-junior-transfers\/","title":{"rendered":"Community College and Junior Transfers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/assist.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Welcome to ASSIST.ORG<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The official course transfer and articulation system for California&#8217;s public colleges and universities.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/assist.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASSIST.ORG<\/a><\/strong> is best used in combination with seeing a counselor on your college\u00a0campus.\u00a0It is intended to help students and counselors work together to establish an appropriate path toward transferring from a <strong>public<\/strong> California community college to a <strong>public<\/strong> California university (CSU or UC).<\/p>\n<h3>The Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) Process<\/h3>\n<p>Every year, over 100,000 California community college students transfer to a four-year university (CSU) to earn their bachelor&#8217;s degree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP 1: Start at a California Community College<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Complete your general education requirements and major-specific coursework at a California community college. Keep your grades up. Meet the requirements for your preferred university and major, and submit all application materials on time when ready to transfer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP 2: Transfer to Your Saved Spot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students who complete <strong>60 semester units<\/strong> of required coursework and meet all admission requirements can receive guaranteed admission into participating four-year colleges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STEP 3: Earn Your Bachelor&#8217;s Degree<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After you transfer, you will start as a junior at your new university. In most cases, you will be only <strong>60 semester units<\/strong> away from earning your bachelor&#8217;s degree. Which is exactly what TAG offers, at any <strong>one of six<\/strong> UC campuses. Follow the four steps below and secure your UC TAG.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Choosing your campus\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before you apply, figure out where you want to go. Check out our\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/admission.universityofcalifornia.edu\/counselors\/files\/tag-matrix.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TAG matrix<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for a full list of the campuses in the program, and their individual requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Complete your TAG application\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Use our Transfer Admission Planner to fill out your TAG application. If you have a community college counselor, review it with them. Don&#8217;t worry if you don&#8217;t-we have our own <strong>UC TAG advisors<\/strong> who can help you out. You&#8217;ll need to submit <strong>by September 30th<\/strong> for the fall term, or May 31st for the winter\/spring term.\u00a0Remember, if you miss the TAG deadline, you can still apply to UC during the regular application period (November 1-30).<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Fulfill all your requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once your application&#8217;s submitted, you&#8217;ll need to complete all your remaining coursework, and hit the GPA requirements in your TAG agreement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Submit your UC application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re on track for all of the above, fill out the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apply.universityofcalifornia.edu\/my-application\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application for admission<\/a>\u00a0to UC.
