Then complete and sign the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1dSeEpmrXl9cm4GGM61s4_w_xcSGms4oZ\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Request for Work Permit Form<\/a>,<\/strong> and bring it in person to school to have it processed.<\/p>\n<p><em>*\u00a0<strong>Very important<\/strong> &#8211; Request forms and work permits with your Social Security Number should never be emailed back and forth electronically due to identity theft, hacking, and other risks.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>*\u00a0<strong>Reminder\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; The work permit is good for this summer only\u00a0and will expire\u00a0<strong>one week<\/strong> into the new school year or until you switch employers. In the fall, please renew the work permit if you are still working at the same location by completing the request form again. If you change job locations or employers, you will need to request a new work permit entirely.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>General Instructions for the School Year:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students (who are minors under 18 years old):<\/strong>\u00a0Please remember you need to get hired for the job prior to applying for a work permit as the employer must fill out and sign their portion of the application. You may even bring the work permit application to your job interview to save time. Your application must be\u00a0<strong>legible and complete<\/strong>\u00a0with<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>wet ink\u00a0signatures\u00a0to avoid processing delays.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>It is against the law for any\u00a0minor to begin training or work before you have a valid work permit. Your employer could be fined and penalized.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parents:<\/strong>\u00a0Please remember to ensure that your child and their potential employer are observing\u00a0<strong>all federal, state, and local laws and guidelines\u00a0<\/strong>so that health and safety precautions are followed for everyone&#8217;s sake. Students must have a social security number in order to be eligible for a work permit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Complete and sign the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1dSeEpmrXl9cm4GGM61s4_w_xcSGms4oZ\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Request for Work Permit Form<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Personally bring your form to the College and Career Specialist in <strong>room F243.<\/strong>\u00a0<em>If she is absent that day, please try again\u00a0the next day. Only if\u00a0she is on vacation, you may drop off the form with your attendance clerk as a last resort.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>3. Check that all information is legible and complete, including your <strong>social security number<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0wet ink\u00a0<strong>signatures<\/strong> of you, your parent and the employer.<\/p>\n<p>4. Give at least\u00a0<strong>two\u00a0school days<\/strong> of time to process, and then it&#8217;s your responsibility to come\u00a0to<strong>\u00a0room F243\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>sign and pick up<\/strong>\u00a0your work permit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reminders:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* The work permit is good for this school year, summer,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>one week<\/strong>\u00a0into the new school year\u00a0or until you switch employers.<\/p>\n<p>** You must maintain better than a cumulative\u00a0<strong>2.0 GPA<\/strong>\u00a0overall with\u00a0<strong>no F grades<\/strong> recently and good attendance, or your work permit request will be denied, or the permit will later get revoked.
