Dear Hopkins Families,
Thanks to our English and math teachers, students recently completed i-Ready diagnostic assessments. The Fall diagnostic window ended on September 19. These assessments in reading and mathematics help teachers understand student strengths and growth areas.Â
Flex Period Academic & Socioemotional Support: This is a friendly reminder that every Tuesday and Thursday, students have Flex Period after lunch. We encourage students to use this time to get what they need, which could be any of the following:Â
Hopkins Social – Trick-or-Treating Tables: New this year! The PFA would like to invite families to decorate a table during the social for students to enjoy Trick-or-Treating! Â If you are willing and interested to decorate a table and can set-up at 3:15 PM and take down by 5:30 PM on Friday, October 17 (Date of our Social), please sign up!

Accessing i-Ready Fall Diagnostic Results: Your student should log in to their i-Ready account (use Clever’s single sing-on, and then click on the i-Ready icon), and from there you can enter the FUSD access code W54RK3 to view results. Notice of Possible Failures: D and F grades were posted in AERIES last week. The D and F grades indicate that your student is showing signs they are struggling with work completion and/or understanding the content. To view your student’s most recent (halfway through the quarter) grades, please follow these steps:Â- Log into AERIES, click on Grades, then click on Grades again!
- You can also navigate around and see gradebook details to keep up on specific assignment grades or view any missing assignments.Â
- Connect with the teacher directly to discuss a support plan.

If your child shows struggles in multiple classes, connect with your child’s counselor to discuss a support plan.Â

Get a Flex Pass from a teacher before lunch, so that the student can travel to this teacher’s class at the start of Flex for —
- Make up tests or assignmentsÂ

Get a Flex Pass from the Wellness Room before lunch, so that the student can travel to the Wellness Room at the start of Flex for —
- Access to calming activities such as art, puzzles, foot massage machine, etc.
- Access to physical play activities such as trampoline, foosball table, punching bag, etc.

Get a Flex Pass from the Library before lunch, so that the student can travel to the Library at the start of Flex for —
- Time to check out books and read for pleasure
- A different setting from the classroom to work on Chromebooks or print class-related work
Coffee with the Counselors: Wednesday, October 1, 9-10 AM @ Wellness Room. Please join our school counselors Ms. Te, Ms. Moore, and Ms. Kim as they present an overview of the counseling program and resources available at Hopkins, as well time for questions and answers.
