The website address is https://fremontunified.org and https://face.edu . This informational website is for publishing of public content, news posts and events for the Fremont Unified School District and the district’s schools and departments. This website is specifically designed/coded to not collect any Personal Data on its audience or visitors. This minimizes compliance requirements and strongly protects the privacy of the website's audience.

Audience Interaction

No comments, no contact forms (data collection) and no general registration is available for the website installed on fremontunified.org and face.edu, so no Personal Data (or identifiable metadata) is collected. Additionally there is no email service from @fremontunified.org or face.edu. All district emails will be from @fusdk12.net.

Forms and/or surveys where information is submitted are handled by external services. Review the privacy policies and procedures used by external services prior to interacting with services.

We have a set of analytics cookies using Google Services that collects site traffic data to improve content and audience experience. IP addresses are being anonymized and no Personal Data is collected. Opt-out browser add-on.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no Personal Data and is discarded when the browser closes.

During log in, several cookies are set to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.

When editing or publishing a Post, an additional cookie will be set. This cookie includes no Personal Data and only indicates the ID of the Post edited. Cookies expire after 1 day.

All uploaded files are usually publicly accessible. Editors should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. It is possible to extract location data from images on the website.

All passwords and critical account information are handled by Google Services.

We support this privacy commitment in part with Parent Notifications, Student Handbook forms, and technology best practices, including coordination with our Technology Advisory Committee. Accessibility

Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) is committed to providing an educational environment and an informational website to all students and members of the public, including those with disabilities. FUSD uses the open source WordPress project for public website content management.

WAI-AAWebsite Accessibility Certification Letter (pdf) The combination of WAVE Web Accessibility audits (an independent authority), installed accessibility WordPress plugin scanning, and trained human evaluation in conjunction with editors (publishing training and procedures) complies with California Government Code Sections 7405 and 11135, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.

Some audience members, with or without disabilities, may not be able to see, hear, or process some types of information; may have difficulty reading or understanding text; or may not be able to use a keyboard or mouse. Website design and compatibility with website readers and other technology can make the information on the website more accessible to everyone.

FUSD continues to review and update its website to ensure compliance with current (Federal Section 504, 508, Title II ADA and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at the AA level) and future standards.

Most of the information provided on fremontunified.org and face.edu is in HTML format. Longer documents and many printable forms are sometimes provided in PDF format. Additional resources to read a PDF document are available through Adobe Systems Accessibility Resource Center.

Closed captioning is provided for live and archived video of the Board of Education meetings.

We occasionally rely on third-party content and have no control over the accessibility of that content. Please contact us if you have trouble accessing third-party content and we will provide you with alternative versions.

Diversity

Fremont Unified School District is committed to diversity, equality, and multiculturalism; ideas of promoting and accepting the differences between people. Equity

Fremont Unified School District is committed to equity in education - meaning that personal or social circumstances such as gender, ethnic origin or family background, are not obstacles to achieving educational potential and that all individuals are included. The students who are furthest behind require more resources to catch up, succeed, and eventually, close the achievement gap.

Additionally, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Transparency

Fremont Unified School District is committed to open, honest and collaborative communication. We want to hear from you. Scheduling an appointment with your child's teacher, principal, or a District employee (contact their office) will ensure the person with whom you wish to speak is available. If you have concerns, complaints, or just a general comment, we provide a detailed web page to help direct your communication. FUSD accepts any written communication as a Uniform Complaint - no specific form is required.

We want to provide timely and accurate information. Transparency builds trust, and that trust creates a quality environment to collaborate toward our common goal that "our students are the top priority." Please contact the Office of the Superintendent with any suggestions. Our Board of Education follows the Brown Act and we endeavor to live stream and provide video archives of the meetings.
