Dear Hopkins Families,

As we come close to the end of Fall 2025 semester, we want to take a moment to shout out the following enrichment opportunities made possible by the work and collaboration between staff, PFA Board, and parent volunteers: 
  • 20+ Student-initiated Clubs: Supervised by staff mostly during lunchtime
  • After-school Arts Workshops: Madame Chabot and Maestra Marquez
  • After-school Math Enrichment Workshop: Counselors in coordination with 6th-8th grade-level math teachers
  • After-school STEM Clubs: Ms. Matar and Ms. Jayadevan
  • Band & Orchestra Performances @ Disney, CMEA, CASMEC: Mr. Sarten
  • Choir Performances @ CSUEB and Ohlone College: Mr. Belles
  • CML, AMC8, and Math Counts (PFA-funded): Ms. Robinson in coordination with all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math teachers
  • Dream Achievers performances: Ms. Fern
  • Egyptian Museum field trips (PFA- and CIPCF- funded): Maestra Hernandez and Ms. Guan
  • Intramural Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer: Ms. Fern, Mr. Cheung, and Mr. Walker
  • Intramural Badminton and Ping Pong (Spring 2026): Ms. Trahan and Ms. Lee
  • Lawrence Hall of Science in-school experiences (PFA-funded): Dr. Rosa Bauza in coordination with all 7th and 8th grade science teachers
  • Peer Tutorials: Counselors in coordination with supervising Flex teachers
  • PFA-sponsored Clubs (Math Olympiad, Model UN, Chess, Advanced Chess): Parent volunteers Ms. Srinivas, Ms. Veeraghanta, Mr. Mazumdar, and Mr. Muthiah in coordination with PFA, Mrs. Loob, custodial staff, and other community volunteers
  • Sports teams Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Volleyball: Coach Lu, Coach Jones, and parent volunteer Coach Isaac, Coach Julia, and Coach Walker
  • SF Cinematography field trips, Science Bowl: Mr. Parekh
  • Special Olympics: Ms. Loo and Mr. Lee
  • Spelling Bee (PFA-funded): Ms. Parke and Ms. Woolbright
  • Tech Museum field trips (PFA-funded): Ms. Tan

Office, Wellness Room, and Library Hours on Thursday, 12/18: Our office, wellness room, and library will close at 1:15 PM due to a staff meeting. 

Save the Dates:
  • Choir Concert: Monday, 12/15, 7 PM @ Ohlone College Smith Center
  • Boys Basketball vs. Centerville: Tuesday, 12/16, 3-5 PM @ Gym – Student spectators must bring current school IDs
  • Orchestra Concert: Tuesday, 12/16, 6:30-8 PM @ MUR
  • Band Concert: Wednesday, 12/17, 6:30-8 PM @ MUR
  • Boys Basketball @ Horner: Thursday, 12/18, 3-5 PM — student spectators must attend with a guardian in away games.
  • End-of-Semester Finals Bell Schedule: Thursday, 12/18, and Friday, 12/19 — school ends @ 12:48 PM. AC Transit buses still run at their regular times; please make alternative pickup arrangements.
  • Winter Break: December 22 – January 5, 2026
  • Spring Semester Begins on Tuesday, January 6
