January 11, 2026
Dear Hopkins Families,
Donations Needed for Tri-Valley: Our ASB and Leadership students are collecting donated and unused socks, wipes, and gloves for the Tri-Valley area. Please drop off your donations in the designated box in front of Room B105 by 1/23/2026.

Spring 2026 After-School Arts Program: Starting in March, we will be adding 2 workshops for Hopkins students. See descriptions below. If you are interested, please sign up here by the end of Friday, 1/30. Priority enrollment will go to students in Special Education programs, ELD program, 6th graders, and 7th/8th graders who current do not have an arts elective. We will confirm workshop enrollment in February.Â
Students to Join Ramadan Resource Team: Students, if you would like to join a student team to update resources and educational material for our Hopkins community to deepen our understanding and inclusivity, please email me ([email protected]) by Friday, 1/30. We will start meeting in February during Read period to work on this initiative together.
Student to Join Design Thinkers: In our November/December student survey, students identified a few widespread issues (e.g., lunch lines, trash). At the same time, our students are also capable problem solvers who can help address the issues together with staff. In the month of February, I will be meeting with students during Flex period and use the Design Thinking process to collaborate on solutions related to school lunch (e.g., lunch items, lunch lines, trash left behind during lunch). If you would like to join our team of Design Thinkers, complete this survey here (this is for our students to complete using their FUSD account) by Friday, 1/30.Â
MSJHS Chinese Language Class Placement Test (for non-Mandarin-Immersion-Program students): For 8th graders outside of our Mandarin Immersion Program who are interested in taking a Chinese Language class at Mission San Jose High School next year, the placement test is Wednesday, 1/28. Students with NO background may register for Chinese 1.  Students with ANY background should come and take the placement test to be placed in the correct level. Please make sure to register for the test:
