Dear Hopkins Families,
Semester 1 grades are in and can be viewed on both the Aeries Parent and Student Portals. We encourage parents/guardians to focus beyond only the letter grades when looking at a report card. It's important to have a conversation with your child about the skills and knowledgeable they have learned, and set specific goals for this second semester. Below are some steps to guide your conversations.Â
Important Upcoming Dates for 2025-2026 Registration:Â

- Thursday, 1/30: Registration Info Webinar for Current 6th Grade Families (Zoom link will be emailed in the week of 1/27)
- 6-7 PM for all families
- 7-7:20 PM for Dual Immersion families
- Monday, 2/3: Course Registration packets due back to math teachers
- (For Current 7th Graders)
- Wednesday, 1/29: Course Registration Presentation in Math Classes
- Friday, 1/31, 1-2 PM: Course Registration Zoom Office Hour with Admin Team (Zoom link will be emailed in the week of 1/27)
- Monday, 2/3: Course Registration packets due back to math teachers
- (For Current 8th Graders)
- Mission San Jose High School Chinese Placement Test for Non-Mandarin-Immersion Students:Â Wednesday, 1/29, 2:30-4 PM, MSJHS Room 242 -Â Register Here, bring pencils for the test, email Ms. Zhang if you have any questions:Â qzhang@fusdk12.net

PFA Fundraiser (see flyer attached):Please help our Hopkins PFA fundraiser by joining us for our first Hopkins Hawks Cooks Night Out event on Wednesday, 1/29. This event is VIRTUAL and with our special code: 9000726 it can be shared with all friends and families nationwide when they order a meal at Panda Express.  28% of all our total orders on 1/29/25 will be donated back to the Hopkins PFA and funds will be used to support school initiatives. We appreciate all the community’s support and hope that the cooks of the family can take one day off for a good cause. Thank you, Hopkins PFA 2025
Comprehensive Health, Puberty, and Sexuality Education: Our Science teachers will be going through Board-approved curriculum from May 12-23, 2025. Please see this letter for more information, including specific lessons that will be included for each grade level.
- If parents/guardians would like to opt out of any lessons, simply email your child's Science teacher by Monday, April 14, 2025, and let the teacher know which lessons you would like your child to be excused from. Students who are opted out will receive social emotional lessons in the library or a flex space.
