Hopkins Principal’s Newsletter 9/28/2025
We would like to give a shout-out to our Campus Supervisor Mr. Chris Leal and teachers who serve as Administrator Designees Ms. Ranjana Das and Ms. Jessica Loo. In addition, our parent volunteers who are consistently supporting our morning and lunch supervision. Our counseling team is informally checking in with students around campus during lunch. We had multiple days when these individuals stepped up and supported supervision duties last week, and their work extends beyond one week as well. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!Â
Grade-Level Town Hall Meetings:Â Our administration team met with each grade level in the last 2 weeks and held a makeup session for students who missed the first town hall. Please review with your child and ask them to explain some of the topics to you. It’s especially important for students to understand what constitutes as harassment/bullying and sexual harassment. Use of physical force to cause harm, harassment/bullying, and sexual harassment are the top 3 student behaviors that result in suspension at Hopkins. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our admin team:
- Ms. Jensen (Assistant Principal for 8th graders with last names A-Lh and all 6th graders): [email protected]Â
- Mrs. Moore (Assistant Principal for 8th graders with last names Li-Z and all 7th graders): [email protected]Â

Black Parent Union’s Zoom Meeting, Wednesday, 10/1, 6 PM: We’re excited to launch the Black Parent Union at Hopkins! This group is an affinity space for parents and caregivers of students who identify as Black. All parents, guardians, and caregivers of students who identify as Black are encouraged to attend. By coming together, we can strengthen our community, amplify our voices, and ensure that our students feel supported and celebrated. Halloween Costume Guidelines: We want students to have a safe and fun Halloween if they choose to celebrate on Friday, 10/31, or if they would like to dress in a costume at our Hawk-o-Lantern Social on 10/17. Please follow these guidelines:
No masks that cover the whole face or make students unrecognizable. Staff members must be able to identify students.
Weapons, real or fake, are not allowed.
Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, gender, sexuality, heritage, or religion are not permitted.
Costumes should not hinder your ability to participate in your classes; costumes may not present safety issues in the hallway. You should be able to easily change in and out of your costume for PE.
District dress code still applies.
