Applications Open for FUSD Citizens Advisory Committee: Renaming Irvington’s Valhalla Theater

At the request of community members, at its August 24, 2022 meeting, the Fremont Unified School District Board of Education approved the formation of a citizen advisory committee to develop recommendations for Board consideration on the topic of renaming Irvington High School's Valhalla Theater.

The advisory committee will gather input from parents, students, staff, elected officials, community members and community organizations to develop name suggestions, and submit recommendations for the Board’s consideration.

This committee will conduct one or more public meetings (note: meetings may be recorded) to fulfill its mandate, and will include the following member categories:
One (1) member appointed by the Fremont Council PTA President
One (1) member selected by Museum of Local History Guild Board of Directors
One (1) district staff-member selected by the Superintendent
One (1) student member appointed by the Student Board Member
Five (5) members selected by the Board of Trustees after an open application period and vote
