Bookfair:

We have one Scholastic Bookfair in the fall. The money raised from the fair is used to purchase books and supplies for the library. The state has cut school library funding drastically in recent years and is less than $1 per student. Therefore, the majority of our funding comes from bookfair profit.

Wizard Birthday Book Club:

This is a wonderful way to celebrate your child's birthday while helping to increase library resources for all students. Money is donated in the child's name, and book(s) are purchased with a bookplate put inside with the child's name. Forms are sent out in the September, and available year around from the library.

California Young Readers

This is a book award that is chosen by the students of California. The California Library Association reviews many books over a years period and several are selected in various age categories. Participating schools can then read the books to the students , who after hearing all the stories, vote on their favorite book. The results are sent in and the winners announced later in the year. Warwick's students in grades 1-3 participate in early spring.

In early spring we celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday by participating in Read Across America.
