6th GRADE STUDENT TO DO LIST for 7th Grade at Thornton:
Hello Parents of Brookvale 6th Graders,
Please find information regarding your child’s transition to Thornton Junior High School (Middle School) below. We also have a “button” on our Brookvale website titled MIDDLE SCHOOL that you may wish to explore.
6th GRADE STUDENT TO DO LIST for 7th Grade at Thornton:
- Please ensure you have turned in your Residency/Reservation form for Continuing Students for the 2023-2024 School Year to the Brookvale School Office before the due date of February 24, 2023
- If you have moved and cannot provide residency proof that matches your address on file in our student system, please contact our school secretary or visit the FUSD website and click on enrollment to complete a CHANGE OF RESIDENCY now
- 7th Grade Advancement Immunization Requirements: 1) Tdap (Whooping Cough) received after 7th birthday; 2nd Varicella (Chicken Pox). Please bring your child’s proof of immunizations to Brookvale by May 26, 2023 or schedule an appointment for your child to receive the required immunization(s), if you have not already done so. After this date, you will be required to wait until Thornton reopens in August 2023 to provide proof. Your student may not attend in-person learning or activities if non-compliant.
**THORNTON 7th GRADE REGISTRATION TIMELINE for Brookvale 6th Graders:
Thornton administration will be meeting with our 6th grade students and their teachers on February 21, 2023 to provide them with their 7th Grade Registration Form to take home to parents.
Between 3/2 – 3/7/23 you and your child will be required to go online and Register per the instructions in the packet.
On 3/8/23, your child will return the form/documents back to their 6th grade teacher.
**THORNTON JHS 2023 EDUCATION FAIRE: MARCH 1, 2023
The Ed Faire is only for students who are currently in 6th & 7th grade and enrolling in 7th or 8th grade for the 2023/2024 school year.
Event Schedule for Current 6th Graders:
6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Presentation (gym)
6:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. *Visit Classrooms
*Teachers will be together in classrooms by department and available to discuss curricular questions for all content areas. Electives teachers will be in their own classrooms to provide information and displays of student work in their classes. A map of the school with teacher locations will be distributed and available the evening of the Ed Faire.
