Today marks our 75th day of school for the 2024-25 school year! I cannot believe we are 405 through the school year already! It has been amazing getting to know the students and families thus far. In continuing my efforts to get to know families, I am inviting families to our second Community Coffee Chat this year!

Character Trait of the Month
The Durham staff has been working with students this year to help them develop critical character traits that will help to shape them into positive and contributing people. You may have seen the monthly Students of the Month recognitions in the Five Minute Updates on the last Friday of the month.
So far, we have focused on:
Responsibility - September
Perseverance - October
Empathy - November
Caring - December
For the month of January, the character trait will be Kindness. This is trait is really important to me because recently, we have a lot of students who are not being kind to others. We all have to do our part to actively help our students to learn about, acquire, and maintain positive character traits that will help them become good citizens. Please take a couple of minutes to watch this video about kindness and over the next several weeks, talk with your students, model kindness, and recognize your students when they demonstate kindness to others.
