COUNSELING SERVICES

Fremont Unified's school counselors are a supportive and dedicated group providing a wide range of services to our students. Both at the Elementary (usually across a couple schools) and Secondary level these caring and resourceful staff assist students and families in numerous ways. The main goal is to support the academic success of all students.

Elementary School Counselors implement a program that is comprehensive, developmental, and preventive. The program focuses on services that address the academic, social-emotional, and college/career development of our students. School Counselor provides support to reduce barriers that impede academic learning, specifically through workshops, small groups, and individual support by providing strategies, and necessary resources to help.

East Bay Agency for Children behavioral health therapists work on-site at schools and counsel children from mainstream classrooms who have been referred by their teachers, principals, parents, and themselves because they are struggling with issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, or aggression.

Through art, play, and other therapeutic tools, EBAC’s clinicians help these children develop ways to self-regulate their emotions and behaviors. These behavioral health clinicians have a therapy room on the school campus and conduct individual, group, and family therapy as needed to address the specific needs outlined in each child’s formal treatment plan.
