Homework Policies
Homework Policy:
For all parents, check the Weekly Folder, Grimmer Newsletter, Parent Square Posts, School Bulletin Board and the website for the latest events and scheduling.Â
Grimmer’s homework policy is an integral part of student learning and aligns with the guidelines of FUSD Board Policy 6154. Pursuant to FUSD policy, homework will be reasonable, appropriate, and relevant to each student’s grade level curriculum.
What is the purpose of homework?
- Extend, reinforce, and provide independent practice of concepts taught in class
- Build understanding in preparation for new concepts
- Build students’ sense of responsibility for their own education and enhancement of study skills
Teachers will assign additional reading minutes based on grade level requirements for literacy and the development of lifelong readers.
Thursday Folder
The Thursday School folder is a crucial organizational and communication tool between the school and student’s families. Students use this folder to bring home communication from the school each week, along with completed work from the week before. Parents are to monitor the folder and review its contents. The folder should be returned to school each Friday.
