Irvington High School Closed Friday, October 4, 2024
Irvington High School will be closed on Friday, October 4, 2024.
This closure is due to the site’s electrical switch gear overheating. We have shut down power to the site to avoid any damage to the equipment and site, and will need to bring in temporary generators to restore functionality and adequate conditions for our students and staff.
No students or unauthorized staff will be allowed on the Irvington campus on October 4. This situation is specific to Irvington High School, all other schools in Fremont Unified will remain open.
Site staff: You will not report to work tomorrow, please look for further information by email.
We expect instruction and activities at Irvington to resume with a normal schedule on Monday, October 7, 2024. However, we will send additional information over the weekend.
All appropriate District and site staff, and outside contractors, have been deployed and are working diligently to resolve the situation in the short-term, and will review long-term solution options. The team will work through the weekend and onward to fully resolve this issue.
Sincerely,
Stan Hicks, Principal, Irvington High School
Erik Burmeister, Superintendent, Fremont Unified School District
