OTIS Summer of Art
This intensive, four-week, pre-college program is for individuals 15 and older who wish to study at one of the top art and design colleges in the country. Serious young artists seeking to strengthen and enhance their art and design skills as well as students with limited training are invited to participate.

Courses
Small classes ensure personalized, in-depth learning. Rigorous course work includes hands-on studio classes and labs in both your chosen Area of Concentration (three days per week) and Foundation Studio (two days per week). Courses meet 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday and include homework. Thee units of college credit are awarded upon successful completion of the program. (Note: Summer of Art is not suited for students in search of a recreational program.)
Faculty
Summer of Art courses are taught by award-winning instructors that are practicing professionals, many of whom teach in Otis' Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts programs. Contact with these instructors provides a glimpse into the working lives of professional artists and designers and introduces you to many career choices in art, design and related fields.
Final Exhibition
You and your instructors will select your best work for the final exhibition. The work is displayed throughout the campus, giving you the experience of being part of a gallery show with your peers, while sharing your artwork with family and friends.

COCA-COLA FIRST GENERATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship program has awarded more than $19 million in scholarships to support students who are the first in their immediate families to go to college. The program has reached more than 1,000 students at approximately 400 U.S. campuses. Interested students should contact the school they are planning to attend to ask whether a Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship is in place, and if so, how to apply.

· StudentAid.gov is a new website that provides straight forward and easy-to-understand information about planning and paying for college. The site combines content and interactive tools from several ED websites. As a mobile-optimized website, StudentAid.gov is fully accessible on tablets and smartphones.
· StudentAid.gov offers more than just information in an easy-to-read format; it also features videos and info graphics, scattered thought out the site, to help answer frequently asked questions about financial aid. UC POLICY CHANGES
FOR FRESHMEN: The new policy requires the same number of “a-g” courses and the same GPA as current policy. The key differences are; (1) Two SAT subject Tests will no longer be required for admission beginning with the class of 2012 and (2) All applicants will need to complete 11 of the 15 “a-g” courses by the end of their junior year

Give a Year. Change the world.
Each year City Year brings 17-24 year olds together for a year of transformative change in our communities by serving our children and youth in schools and by educating the community on how they can make an impact in their neighborhood everyday - from beautifying parks to painting murals and blacktops to deter graffiti and vandalism, by volunteering in an after school program or by simply donating funds or resources to improve these programs. We are looking for young people willing to serve their community and country by putting children and youth first! They need not have any experience, just a desire to be a part of a national movement to save our schools and communities. COMPREHENSIVE EATING DISORDERS PROGRAM
Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford knows that obesity and its medical consequences have become an epidemic among children. The number of involved children is growing year by year such that 1 in 4 American kids are now overweight. At the same time, as many as one million girls in the U.S. suffer from eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
