Sophomores

Here's a year round checklist to refer to during your Sophomore year!

 Fall (September - November)

1. Evaluate your course load and find out how much you know about college planning. (Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to your future!)

2. Register for and take the PSAT (pre-SAT) and/or PLAN (pre-ACT) tests.

3. Increase your commitment to extracurricular activities so you'll stand out on your college applications. (Don't signup for so much activities to set yourself up for stress!)

4. Create a college calender to keep track of important dates and deadlines. (You won't remember any of it in your head!)

5. Get familiar with college planning and the admissions process so you'll know what to expect before college.

 Winter (December - February)

6. Develop your standardize testing plan and take you're ready for.

7. Discover unique tips on how to organize your college prep ideas.

8. Start your essay prep by writing often, so you can reap the benefits later. (Reading also helps!)

9. Capitalize on the college planning resources and learn more about colleges and universities.

 Spring (March - May)

10. Consult your counselor to make sure you're prepped for junior year classes. (GET YOUR REQUIRED CLASSES!)

11. Expand your knowledge about prospective schools by attending college fairs and information sessions.

12. Plan a solid summer filled with volunteering, internships and of course, FUN!

13. Ask your counselor or teachers about AP testing to see if you're ready to take AP classes or sign up for the AP exam.

 Summer (June - August)

14. Talk with your family about creating a college budget.

15. Secure a summer job and build credentials while having fun!

16. Visit college campuses to see which types of schools appeal to you.
