Welcome to Maloney
Hello Parents, Students, Friends, and Neighbors,
My name is Christopher Wood, and I must start by saying how proud I am to be part of the Maloney Elementary School community. I join the Fremont family via Newark, where I taught for 4 years and served as principal during the 2013-2014 school year. Prior to moving to California, I lived on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, and grew up in Cheektowaga, New York (near Buffalo, GO BILLS!). I am happy to be in my 15th year in education, and have had the amazing opportunity to teach at every grade level while experiencing both General and Special Education settings. This allowed me to work with diverse and dynamic groups of students, and take part in exceptional learning communities. Maloney Elementary just being another example of one of these communities.
My goals for this school year include fostering community involvement, creating an environment that supports the social/emotional needs of all, and to support our wonderful teachers in continuing the tradition of academic excellence. I believe that these are at the base of any great school, and Maloney Elementary has already laid down a strong foundation for achieving these goals.
