MSJE Basketball Tryouts

Hello MSJE 4th and 5th parents/guardians,

Basketball season is just around the corner. Please carefully read the following information. This information will be sent to all parents on Parent Square. Paper forms are also available in the MSJE office.

Required forms

Interested participants must complete and submit (turn into MSJE office):

• FUSD Insurance and Permission Form – due by November 5

• Participation Physical Evaluation Clearance Form – (Some doctors may use a different form which is OK as long as “unlimited participation” is noted. Physical forms must be current, dated August 14, 2024 or after.) – due by November 5

• Elementary Sports Player/Parent Code of Conduct – due by November 5

• School Permission Form (this form) – due prior to attending open gym sessions or by November 5

Season Timeline (all dates are subject to change):

• Open Gym (not required to try out): 

  • 10/22, 10/29, 3:00 – 5:00 (boys)

  • 10/23, 10/30, 3:00 – 5:00 (girls)

• Tryouts*:

  • 11/5, 11/12, 3:00 – 5:00 (boys)

  • 11/6, 11/13, 3:00 – 5:00 (girls)

  • 11/14, 3:00 – 5:00 (boys and girls – final selection)

• Practices (beginning the week of November 18):

  • Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:00 – 5:00 (girls)

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00 – 5:00 (boys)

• Games: 

  • January – February (TBD)

* Tryouts are open to all 4th & 5th-grade boys and girls. 

* Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players. Regretfully, not all players who try out for the team will be selected.
