Student Council Speeches and Voting

Hello 4th and 5th Grade Families,

If your 4th or 5th grade student is running for a student council position, please read this information carefully.

Speech week starts on Monday, September 22.

Speech Week Schedule:

    • Monday (9/22): President and Sergeant of Arms

    • Tuesday (9/23): Vice President (all VP candidates need to be ready on this day)

    • Wednesday (9/24): Vice President (remaining speeches)

    • Thursday (9/25): Secretary

    • Friday (9/26): Treasurer


Speech Guidelines:

    • Speech must be 60 seconds or less

    • Speech should be grade-level appropriate

    • Speech should focus on why the student is a good candidate for the position.

    • Speech should not include false promises or inaccurate information.


Campaigning during Speech Week: 

  • Students can continue to keep posters up and campaign during Speech Week.


Voting is on Tuesday, September 30. Election results are announced on October 1.
