Community Connections

Parents are invited and strongly encouraged to be involved in a variety of ways to support student learning.  A few examples include volunteering in class as tutors, making classroom presentations, working in a parent-established Copy Center, becoming a room parent, assisting on field trips or class projects, or acting as an academic mentor, yard-duty or cafeteria-duty.  The Patterson PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is also a great way to get involved; please check under the PTA section of this website for more information or check the PTA Post twice a month in your students Thursday Folder.

Volunteer at Patterson

Our school is stronger when we all work together! Visit our Volunteer & Donation website.

Noon Duty Supervisor

Patterson encourages parents and community members to apply as noon duty supervisors.  Our supervisors work from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. and help keep our lunch and recess periods safe and orderly.  Noon duty supervisors are paid positions and we encourage you to apply.  We love our supervisors!

School Site Council

The School Site Council is the parent and staff advisory committee monitoring the implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP).  A Bilingual advisory sub-committee is part of the SCC and monitors the services to the limited English proficient students.  The Ethnic/Race Relations Committee meet to discuss issues relating to multicultural ethnicity and race.  The SSC normally meets monthly to monitor and review school activities to ensure all parts of the plan are completed.  The SSC also makes recommendations to revise the plan and budget as needed.
