AHS Administration

At American High School we strive to help our students achieve in all aspects of their development.  It is my goal that during their time at American High School, every student make progress in their learning, expand their perspectives, and explore new interests.  As we kick off the start of a new school year, I am celebrating eight years at American High School and my twenty-third year in secondary education.  I feel privileged to work within a community of educators who all value student voices, a respectful population of students with a strong desire to learn, and a network of families and community members who continue to make decisions that are best for students.

I am extremely grateful to be part of Eagle Nation. I have been in education for eighteen years and I am excited to be part of American High School. I believe that an educator should be considerate, trustworthy, dependable, honest, and determined. Students strive to do their best if you communicate high expectations while encouraging them to challenge themselves. As an administrator, I will gain trust and respect by giving trust and respect to create a productive and positive school climate. I will take into consideration all of the stakeholders involved and create an effective environment where equity and access for all is prioritized. I want to give a voice to the students and let them know that they are important.

As a part of the FUSD community since 2008 both as a parent, staff member, and most recently as a biology teacher and Science Department Chair at American High, I am excited to serve in my role as Assistant Principal. The American community is a vibrant mix of enthusiastic students, supportive families, and a dedicated staff geared towards maintaining a tradition of excellence with students being the focus. I am proud to be a member of this "Eagle Nation" where a trusting relationship binds all elements of the school community. I am so excited to be a part of the notorious Eagle Nation!  I attended Fremont Unified schools from kindergarten-12th grade, then became a high school educator, and now I am thrilled to serve the American attendance area as an Assistant Principal.  I believe that education should be a mixture of content knowledge and character development.  Students should gain knowledge and build skills that will help them become successful in all their future endeavors.  I look forward to supporting and encouraging this great community and its students in any way that I can.  As an administrator I want to continue to make American High School a more equitable place for our diverse student body.  I look forward to being an active part of this great community!
