Visual and Performing Arts
The American High School Visual and Performing Arts Department offers comprehensive and sequential instruction in a wide variety of courses. The Arts provide students meaningful ways to create, express, share, connect, and respond to others. Visual and Performing Arts classes allow students to solve problems, thinking critically and creatively, in a hands-on learning environment.
Good art is art that allows you to enter it from a variety of angles and to emerge with a variety of views. - Mary Schmich
The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance. - Aristotle
FUSD Arts Mission: “To nurture artistic literacy through creativity and expression, providing a foundation for a better understanding of the world and each person’s role in it.”
