Wow, only 4 days of school left to the year!
Friendly reminder that there is no school on Memorial day, and the last day of school on May 30th is a minimum day.
Congratulations to our 5th grader for finishing their elementary chapter! 5th grade promotion is on Wednesday, May 28th at 8:30am in the MUR. In respect of our safety and facility capacity, we can only accommodate 2 adults and no siblings per student. Please consider carpooling in preparation of our morning traffic.
Have a great Memorial day weekend!

We had our last Bringhurst's Core Value award ceremony, featuring students who has shown our "Responsibility" value through the year. Our entire student body performed a fun song called "Responsible" by Teresa Jennings, all thanks to Mrs. Sampson's preparation.
Congratulations to our award recipients, you deserve the recognition!

Open House is one of our biggest events of the year! We loved seeing how proud our students look when they show their families all the work they've put in this year. Thank you to everyone who carpooled or walked to accommodate our parking situation, and we hope you enjoyed the food trucks!

Every year, teachers get together to present an appreciation breakfast for all of our parent volunteers for the year. Parent volunteers are one of the pillars that supports our school community. With the help of parent volunteers, we are able add so much more to our student's learning experience. With that said, thank you so much to our parents who invests time in our kiddos. We see you, and we appreciate you!

Our ELD specialist, Mrs. Hamilton, celebrated many of our multilingual learners who were reclassified as English proficient this year. Students get reclassified when they master the listening, speaking, reading, and writing goals of the English Language Development Standards. Congratulations to our Blazers for this huge accomplishment!

Ms. Amanda, our counselor, held Bringhurst's second-annual Career Catwalk, showcasing 5 different volunteers who inspired our 3-5th graders with their careers. We were honored to have Superintendent Larsen as one of our catwalkers! The event ended with 5th graders interacting with demos in a mock career fair. The kids had a blast thanks to our volunteers!

Last week, we were honored to have the Fremont Police Department to come do an assembly for our TK and 1st grader. They were able to bring both their sniffer and therapy dog, as well as several police vehicles to showcase. The kids got to interact with the police officers and had so much fun! Thank you Fremont PD!

What a fun event to see all of our kids using their thinking brain and creative brain at the same time!
Thank you PTO for hosting this event!

Our 5th grade MIP teacher Mrs. Tsung showcased the Suitcase Project to community members last week. The students have been working on this project over the school year, and this project was made possible by a grant funded by California Teacher Association (CTA) and the Fremont Unified District Teacher Association (FUDTA).

Please walk your bicycles or scooter on campus at all times during school hours. There has been multiple injuries, close calls and complaints related to wheels going too fast around people. This applies to younger siblings that comes with smaller rides during pick-up and drop-off. The Bringhurst community appreciates all cooperation towards maintaining safety around our campus.

We have gotten feedback and want to ensure our pick-up and drop-off traffic is safe for both students and adults. In order to do so, we need all Blazers to cooperate with the traffic rules below:
Front Traffic Loop
- ONE-LANE VALET - traffic cones have been put in place to create 1 lane only through the loop. Please do NOT create a left lane. It is very dangerous and creates risks for collisions.
- NO LEFT TURN FROM WISDOM - kindly plan your drive to school so you can enter the valet line by turning right. Turning left from Wisdom creates a gridlock for cars exiting the loop and halts the flow of traffic.
- DO NOT USE THE STAFF PARKING LOT - whether it's parking in the teacher's lot or using it to drop-off/pick-up students, the staff parking lot is meant for teachers to come and go from their work place. Please park on the street or use the valet line/Insight for drop off.
- HANDICAP PARKING - Families who need handicap parking may use the staff parking lot. Please make sure you move the cones back in place once you've entered.
- STAY IN YOUR CAR AT ALL TIME - if you leave your car unattended (or stay parked) in the valet loop during pick-up and drop-off, it instantly backs up the traffic. Please stay in your car and be ready to move to alleviate congestion.
Insight Street
Insight Street is not an official school drop off pick up zone. At this time, the city does not own Insight street. When that time comes, our school will work with the city to make it an appropriate safe drop-off/pick-up loop. However, if you choose to continue to use this street, please be mindful of the following:
- BE SAFE - as one of our Blazer core value, please teach your child traffic safety when using Insight street as a drop-off and pick-up area. Stay on the sidewalk, look both ways before crossing, and any habits that can keep them safe!
- NO U-TURN - there is a cone to prevent U-turns on Insight street. Please, respect the cones!
Please help us inform other parents of these reminders and be a part of the solution to our traffic problem!

PTO has now created language-specific groups for Bringhurst parents! As a community, we want to make sure every parent can feel included and a part of our Bringhurst family. With language specific groups, hopefully you can connect with other parents who speak the same home/preferred language as you. The main "All Parents Chat" group is English. If there are more language groups to create, please email: [email protected]. These groups will also contain translated announcements from the school and from PTO, so parents will always know what is going on!

Got a graduating student who doesn’t need their old recorder? The Music Program would be happy to have you donate that recorder back to their program for the music students next year! They will be thoroughly disinfected and sterilized. Please find a receiving box for old recorders in the front office!
|
We started a Facebook group for just Bringhurst families and teachers to pass on goods to those in our community! Feel free to join us HERE!
|
- All items will be donated or discarded by Monday morning, 6/2.
- Carts will be moved outside the main school gates at school dismissal on the last day of school, so families will have the weekend to look for their missing items. However, don’t wait until the last minute! The carts will be very full by the last day of school, making it harder to find your items.

What a year it has been, Blazer families! From the PTO officer team, we just want to give a big HEARTFELT “THANK YOU!” to all of you (our parent volunteers, teachers, admin, and students)! It’s been an honor getting connected this year, fundraising together, supporting teachers and programs, and building a stronger community together. We are full of gratitude that in this world, where it takes a village to raise children, our village is you. Have a wonderful summer!
