Principals' Message

Just like that, we finished the first 2 weeks of school!

Thank you to all of our parents for respecting our new Closed Campus policy. We made big strides to ensure campus safety with our team work. We especially want to thank parent volunteers for helping us out in different ways, we really can't do this without you!

Our next big event is Back to School Night. A gentle reminder that this is a parent-only event. We ask parents to come alone in respect to our teachers. This way, parents can be fully engaged when receiving important information about the school year. More details about the event is below.

The Blazers started the school year with our first Behavior Assembly, teaching students about school expectations. Ask your students what behavior expectations they have learned to follow at school!

Closed campus reminders

Closed Campus Reminders

  1. Morning Drop-Off: the gates between the school and the playground will open at 7:45am. However, there are no playground supervision until 8am. Students have been told to not play on the playground until 8am.
  2. Lost and Found: we will be rotating our 3 lost and found racks to the front and back side of the school. We will be updating you as we look for ways to improve this process.
  3. Items Drop-Off: parents who are dropping off lunch, water bottles, etc. will need to email the teacher directly so they can send the student to pick it up. We will provide blue tape and sharpie for you to label the item with your child's name. The item will then be placed on the black cart near the office for student to pick up.

Fremont Adult & Continuing Education offers Mommy or Daddy & Me Classes. Classes focus on creative art, open play, science exploration, reading readiness, pre-math skills, music & movement, and story time. Parents participate with their child in all aspects of the program. Come have fun learning together with us!

Classes available for 18-24 months, 2-3 year olds, & 3-5 year olds.

Menchies - Bringhurst PTO’s First Dine Out To Donate is 08/23/2025

Hello Bringhurst Families! We are all set for another year of Dine Out To Donate (DOTD)! DOTD is an effective fundraising model that gives back to our school, our community, and the participating restaurants.
  • We'll kick off this year's DOTD with our first event at Menchie's Frozen Yogurt on Saturday, August 23rd. Show the flyer (see below) or mention "Lila Bringhurst" at checkout.
  • 20% of your purchase will be donated directly to the Bringhurst PTO.
  • So cool off and enjoy some delicious frozen yogurt while doing some Blazer Good! We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Hi Everyone!  Did you know Bringhurst PTO has a website?  If you didn’t know about it or haven’t visited the site in a while, we encourage you to check it out. We’ve recently updated it with lots of new resources and up-to-date information.  Our website is a great parent resource.
  • The Bringhurst PTO website has a wealth of information, including but not limited to:
  • PTO meeting minutes and slides;
  • PTO Events (by subscribing to our Google calendar you won’t miss events);
  • Volunteer Opportunities;
  • Club information;
  • Links to the various WhatsApp parent class groups and;
  • Orders for the birthday marquee messages

Call for Volunteers!

  • PTO is actively looking for volunteers to help out! If you can spare any time please consider helping out. Learn more about each role HERE. Some examples of where you can help are the following:
  • Blazerunner Fun Run
  • Trunk or Treat
  • Room parent
  • Class yearbook Committee 
  • Crosswalk monitors during drop off and / or pick up times
  • Lost and Found helpers
  • Walk to School Day, and
  • Other school events help

Blazerunner Fun Run is September 19, 2025

  • The Bringhurst Blazerunner 2025 Fun Run is  September 19, 2025 “Run Today, Shine Tomorrow - A Bright Future Starts Here”. This Fun Run is Bringhurst Elementary School’s only major fundraiser event benefiting classroom teachers and PTO-sponsored events and initiatives.  
  • Most of the money raised will go directly to the teachers for use in the classroom. Our teachers use these funds to purchase much-needed items throughout the year such as books, classroom and art supplies. The remaining funds will support PTO-sponsored activities and resources for the school.
  • Fundraising Kickoff is September 2, 2025, and we will need many volunteers…so please consider volunteering for this fun event!

Morning Drop-Off Expectations

  • We know morning drop-off can be a little busy and frustrating but we have a Traffic Committee working hard to find solutions and implement them! 
  • One way you can help is by volunteering! And for parents unable to volunteer we have some guidelines that will help everything move smoothly when they’re followed.
  • We kindly request that we all try our very best to follow these constructive guidelines provided to us by our morning drop-off volunteers, who work hard every morning to get all our children to school in a safe and timely manner!
 

Whatsapp All Chat and Language Groups

  • We recognize that while our WhatsApp is very active - it’s all in English! That can be hard if it’s not your native or preferred language. In an effort to make sure we’re reaching as many parents as possible, we wanted to offer spaces for parents to communicate completely in their native or preferred language. 
  • PTO would appreciate it if the multilingual parents in these groups can help translate and post all the announcements made in the LBES Community Announcement page into these language subgroups. 
  • Finally, it takes a village! Please share the link to other parents who prefer to communicate in languages besides English to join these language subgroups.
