Principal's Message

We started the first two weeks of 2026 full of school excitement. We dove right into an assembly the first thing to remind all of us what it is like to be in school again. We also had two basketball games, many field trips, and a lot of learning happening in classrooms!

As we gear up for a three day weekend, we hope that we remember to continue to educate our amazing Blazers of Martin Luther King Junior's important work. Enjoy the three-day weekend and stay safe!

Be kind, be safe, be responsible. Be your blazer best!

Life at Bringhurst

Assembly

We started the first day back with an Expectation Assembly. With every assembly, we always start with mindful breathing as it is one of the essential life-skills we want to equip students with. We love seeing students model and lead this portion of our assembly!

bringhurst library donation drive

Bringhurst Library Titlewish Fundraiser, Dec. 5, 2025 – Jan. 31, 2026

Help us grow our brand-new school library! Because Bringhurst is a new school, our collection is still small—about 8 books per student, while most schools have 15–20. As our student population and reading levels grow, we want to offer a wider range of books for every child, including a strong Chinese-language collection for our Mandarin Immersion Program.

How to Donate (suggested donation: $20):
  1. English books: Donate online at Titlewish (click “Donate”).
  2. Chinese books: Donate by check/cash to FUSD–Bringhurst (note “Library,” student name, and room number).
Our fundraising goals: $5,000 for English books and $2,000 for Chinese books.
Thank you for helping us build a vibrant and lasting Bringhurst Library for all students!

Blazer Snack Shack

Fourth Grade Fundraiser Continues...

Fourth grade is continuing their fundraising efforts for their upcoming Sacramento field trip! To support their goal, the 4th grade team will be running the Blazer Snack Shack from December - February, every Wednesday and Thursday after school. Families & students can find the Snack Shack outside both the Front Gate near the office and the Back Gate.

They will be selling a variety of snacks, including popcorn, chips, Capri Sun, Gatorade, packaged brownies, lollipops, and ice cream sandwiches. Please refer to the menu above if your child is interested in purchasing snacks after school. The Snack Shack accepts cash only, and we kindly ask families to bring exact change when possible.

If your child has food allergies, please talk with them about what they are able to purchase. Most items are nut-free, but some may be processed in facilities that handle nuts.

PBIS Parent Involvement

PBIS Parent Volunteers Needed
As we continue to grow our PBIS efforts this year, we are looking to add parent involvement to our PBIS team! On the third Wednesday of each month our team meets to discuss plans for PBIS at Bringhurst. We would need parent input for the first 15-20 minutes of each meeting (1:45 - 2:00pm). We would share what issues we are seeing on campus and have you brainstorm with the team on how to address these needs at school. Please let us know if you're interested!

math
In response to the results gathered in the survey recently, we are going to host the 2026 Math Challenge Tournament® (MCT) for Bringhurst students this spring!  This fun and enriching event gives students the opportunity to showcase their skills across a variety of math topics in an engaging and supportive environment.
The Math Challenge Tournament is a national competition open to students in Grades 2–5 First graders are also welcome to participate, but they will compete at the Grade 2 level (Division 2). Students from all 50 states take part in this exciting tournament in various locations.
MCT for Bringhurst students* will be held at Clever Learning Center (~2 miles from Bringhurst. address: 194 Francisco Ln #208, Fremont) on Saturday, Mar 28, 2026 at 10-11am.  Tournament fee is $26 per student.  20% of the fee will be given back to our PTO who partnered closely with our parent volunteers to make this event possible!
*The location is for Bringhurst students exclusively, not students from other schools.  Students don’t need to be in the Math Challenge or any other program to join the tournament.
Registration is open now until Mar 6, 2026
For more detail about the tournament, check out the official website or email Jenny at [email protected]
