We've made it the 100th day of school this past Tuesday! We can't believe the school year is more than half way over. So much learning, fun, and accomplishments have happened. I'm so proud of our blazer community for always coming together and and looking for ways for families to connect with each other. Looking forward to all the events we have planned as we finish up the rest of the year. GO BLAZERS!
Be kind, be safe, be responsible. Be your blazer best!

A big thank you to our PTO for sponsoring our Student Council shirts! Our team is looking sharp and proud as they represent our school. |
Students learning how to create with chomp saws at Innovation Club. Thank you to our teachers Mrs. Tsung (3) and Mrs. Choi (TK) for leading! |
Bringhurst Choir had a picnic celebration. We love seeing our community get together to enjoy each other's company! |
We have officially completed 100 days of school!! TK celebrated by making fruit loop necklaces and crown. |
PE is often times our students' favorite class... probably because of how awesome Coach Odor and Coach Phy is! |
While we have lots of fun at Bringhurst, we also do lots of learning. Here we have small group interventions led by our structure literacy coach Mrs. Gobel and our TK teacher Mrs. Hall. |
Our PBIS grade-level assemblies are still happening every week. We always start with student-led mindful breathing, and split into mixed classes for activities. |

We enjoyed seeing students dress up each day for Kindness spirit week, and loved how they were eager to participate in the Kindness challenge each day. Students were challenged to smile at one another, offer help, give compliments, share supplies, and include others. Though kindness week is over, one of our Bringhurst core value is to always be kind! Let's continue to encourage our students to make spread kindness each and every day!

We are excited to invite you to our first-ever Blazers Entrepreneur Fair, a student-led event where our students will launch their own mini businesses and experience real-world entrepreneurship!
Our innovators have been hard at work creating products, games, and crafts, and they can’t wait to share their creativity with the community. All booth fees will directly support our 4th Grade Sacramento Field Trip, and the student entrepreneurs get to keep 100% of their earnings!
Please be sure to watch the informational video with your child so they can get a glimpse of what will be sold at the fair.
Event Details
Date: Friday, February 6, 2026
Time: 5:00–7:00 PM

We are excited to kick off our February Basket Raffle Fundraiser, a fun, month-long event that builds school spirit while supporting an important cause. Funds raised will go toward our Blazer Folders for the 2026–2027 school year, which help support students across our school community.
How it Works:
Throughout February, students may purchase raffle tickets from their teacher for a chance to win a Raffle Basket filled with age-appropriate prizes such as plush toys, candy, stickers, small games, and fun surprises.
-
Cost: $1 per raffle ticket
-
Ticket Limit: No limit! Students may purchase as many tickets as they wish
-
Raffle Drawing Days: All Fridays in February (except February 13, we will move it to Thursday, February 12th)
-
Winners: Multiple winners will be selected each week
Students will write their name, grade level, and teacher/classroom number on each ticket before submitting it to their teacher. Tickets are collected weekly and entered into Friday morning drawings. Ramadan is coming up around the corner! Ramadan is a significant month for Muslims around the world, who celebrate by fasting from before-sunrise to sunset and focus on improving character through charitable acts and building better habits.
Right before the expected start of the new month, Muslims around the world watch the night sky looking for the new crescent moon (a very thin sliver of a light) which marks the beginning of the new lunar month, Ramadan.
*A Note on Timing: We recognize that Tuesday is an incredibly busy day: it's Lunar New Year, and we know many of our families are balancing coding classes, basketball, choir practice, and everything in between! Based on parent volunteer preferences and logistics, this was the best window to make the event happen. We completely understand the "Tuesday hustle," so please feel free to drop by for any portion of the hour that works for your family!
All families are welcome, whether you celebrate Ramadan or simply want to enjoy the crafts and activities.

2026-2027 NEW student enrollment is starting in December 2025. For your child that is currently enrolled with us, there is nothing you need to do. If you have other children not currently enrolled in FUSD, that you need to enroll, please visit our Enrollment Website for more information, dates, and the enrollment application.
Sibling priority runs from December 1, 2025 - April 17, 2026. Complete the enrollment by April 17, 2026 to have the best chance of keeping your children at the same elementary school.

Help us grow our brand-new school library! Because Bringhurst is a new school, our collection is still small—about 8 books per student, while most schools have 15–20. As our student population and reading levels grow, we want to offer a wider range of books for every child, including a strong Chinese-language collection for our Mandarin Immersion Program.
How to Donate (suggested donation: $20):
-
English books: Donate online at Titlewish (click “Donate”).
-
Chinese books: Donate by check/cash to FUSD–Bringhurst (note “Library,” student name, and room number).
Our fundraising goals: $5,000 for English books and $2,000 for Chinese books.
Thank you for helping us build a vibrant and lasting Bringhurst Library for all students!

Fourth grade is continuing their fundraising efforts for their upcoming Sacramento field trip! To support their goal, the 4th grade team will be running the Blazer Snack Shack from December - February, every Wednesday and Thursday after school. Families & students can find the Snack Shack outside both the Front Gate near the office and the Back Gate.
They will be selling a variety of snacks, including popcorn, chips, Capri Sun, Gatorade, packaged brownies, lollipops, and ice cream sandwiches. Please refer to the menu above if your child is interested in purchasing snacks after school. The Snack Shack accepts cash only, and we kindly ask families to bring exact change when possible.
If your child has food allergies, please talk with them about what they are able to purchase. Most items are nut-free, but some may be processed in facilities that handle nuts.

PBIS Parent Volunteers Needed
As we continue to grow our PBIS efforts this year, we are looking to add parent involvement to our PBIS team! On the third Wednesday of each month our team meets to discuss plans for PBIS at Bringhurst. We would need parent input for the first 15-20 minutes of each meeting (1:45 - 2:00pm). We would share what issues we are seeing on campus and have you brainstorm with the team on how to address these needs at school. Please let us know if you're interested!
