Happy New Year Everyone! 2025 has some really exciting events coming up!
We have started our basketball season and I absolutely love watching the community come together and cheer on the team. The students love to show their school spirit on game day!
In January we have a lot of celebrations coming up. We will be celebrating MLK school wide with an assembly and a collaborative art project that is based off the history of Gee's Bend. We are also celebrating LNY at the end of the month with an assembly of lion dance and kung fu performances. We will also have booths with LNY activities for grade levels to attend.
With many 3 day weekend holidays, there usually is a rise of student absence. Please consider the importance of school attendance as you plan vacations.

Lost and Found
Our fabulous Lost and Found team are in desperate need of more volunteers! We have some volunteers that come 15 minutes before picking students to organize racks. It makes a very big difference keeping the racks organize for our school. Please reach out to me if you feel like you can donate some time!
Our next donation date will be February 28th, Friday.
Soccer Coach
Interested in coaching soccer?
We have a group of boys and girls that would love to have a soccer team at our school. Please let me know if you're interested in coaching boys and/or girls team!
Campus Clean Up Day
Bringhurst Campus Clean Up Day- Saturday - February 8th 9am-11am
Looking for a fun volunteer activity with your kid(s)? Join other Bringhurst families to help beautify and clean up our campus on Saturday, February 8th, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am! We will be picking up trash, wiping down tables, and cleaning our outdoor spaces to keep the campus looking pristine. This is also a great opportunity to teach our kids how to care for our shared spaces and engage in simple civic responsibilities. Please consider bringing along a broom and dust pan, and gardening gloves. Disposable gloves will be provided.
Dine out to Donate - Monday - January 13th - Halal Guys

All organizations should accept our PTO as an eligible non-profit for donation match now. We need some parent volunteers to lead events! There are two possible events we can have this year-but we need someone to lead them!
a) Golden Sneaker Competition (Alameda County Walk/Roll to School has a competition in March --prizes and promo supplies are already purchased by the county, but we will need a parent or two to be the planner(s) for this event). Registration for this Alameda County sponsored event is due 1/31/2025.
b) Cultural Night - some schools have hosted a parent-led cultural night filled with dances, performances, talent shows, food, and other fun festivities. If planning this kind of event interests you, please sign up!
