We had our September PBIS assembly to talk about how to empower students to solve problems. We identify problems by its size: pebble, rock, or boulder. If the problem is a pebble or rock problem, we talked about the 5 steps to solving the problem. Start a conversation with your child about this and see what they can recall!
October is almost here and we have lots of things planned for this month. Red Ribbon Week, Anti-Bullying month, PTO's Trunk or Treat and of course our Halloween Parade! More details will be shared as we get closer to these events.
Be Kind. Be Safe. Be Responsible.
Be Your Blazer Best!

Each student needs to have emergency contacts who are available nearby to pick up a student. We've had a quiet a few events when all emergency contacts were unavailable due to being out of town. We cannot release a child if the adult is not listed as an emergency contact. Please also make sure the emergency contact information under your child is up to date. You may contact the office to update the information.

Thank you Sharon Young for bringing back The Math Challenge to Bringhurst. The Math Challenge program is a free math enrichment program for Kindergarten to 5th grade. It provides 15 sets of challenges throughout the school year. Each set is published every other week starting Sept. 13 and includes 18 problems ordered by level of difficulty. Younger students are expected to complete fewer problems. Challenges can be printed at home, and they can be submitted either online or in a box in the front office. The purpose of the program is to engage and challenge students to solve interesting math problems, thereby strengthening critical thinking skills and improving confidence in math. Prizes will be awarded for students completing 10 or more challenges.
