Message from our Art Teacher, Mrs. Kraus-International Dot Day Project

Hello James Leitch Community,

We have started a project in art class that will end in a collaborative art installation piece on our campus, here at Leitch. I am inviting all to participate in creating a specific piece to add to the art. What we will be creating is based on the book ‘The Dot’ by Peter H. Reynolds and it will be put up for International Dot Day on September 15th . You can make a dot using a Post Now specific color, as the art will be spilling out a rainbow of dots. Your dot can be one of the
following rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet. The one color can be used in different, tints and shades, but it must be one color. You are
welcome to make a design on your dot that is radial symmetrical, which means that you repeat a line/mark from one part all the way around in a circle like a sun or flower. Your artwork should be a circle, not square.

I would need all dots cut out and ready by September 12th by end of day. Please drop off in the office.

Thank you,
Claudine Krause
Art Teacher

Below is an example of radial symmetry and below that is how our installation may look.
