English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

English Language Advisory Committee

An English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a mandatory committee at California public schools with 21 or more English learner students, formed to provide a voice and input for parents and community members regarding programs and services for these students. The ELAC's role includes advising the principal on the English learner program, assisting with the school's needs assessment, and participating in the development of the school's plan for student achievement (SPSA).
