Seth Colitz

My name is Seth Colitz, Mattos computer teacher for 1st – 5th grade.  I am honored and excited to serve your students this year. This will be my 14th year teaching computers at Mattos.  I am excited to welcome your students to our computer lab!

Mission Statement: To foster a positive and hands-on approach to computer education, to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

All 1st – 5th grade Mattos students come to the computer lab for 60+ minutes a week.

Topics covered include:

• Digital Literacy (navigating websites, online safety/privacy, digital footprint, respectful communication, research skills, etc.)  

• Productivity (Word processing, presentations for upper grades)

• Keyboarding/Typing (all grades) + Mouse skills (1st grade)

• Intro to Computer Programming – Coding concepts + Algorithms via age-appropriate websites

In addition I support classroom teachers by incorporating academic subjects (especially Math, English and Science) into the computer lab curriculum via academic websites, assessment support, and review. Check out the computer lab website for current student activities.
