Counselor Request

Parents and teachers may request for the counselor to meet with a student.  Students may seek counseling support by informing their teacher, visiting the counseling office, or completing a counselor request form in the front office.  The counselor provides short-term and school based counseling sessions that can range up to 8 sessions.  If the student needs long-term support, the counselor will work with the family to provide community resources.  Reasons students meet with the counselor may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing stress
  • Setting goals
  • Family challenges affecting school
  • Academic challenges
  • Friendship problems
  • Time management
  • Coping with grief
  • Managing anger
  • Self-esteem
  • Academic pressure
