March is here, and we started the month by celebrating Read Across America Week. What a fantastic week it has been encouraging our students to develop a love of reading.
We were fortunate to welcome many guest readers to campus, including Superintendent Larsen, Fremont USD Board Member Coco, our community firefighters, Fremont police officers, several district office staff members, and other community guests. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come together to share the joy of reading with our Parkmont Panthers.
We also celebrated our Reading Night on March 5th, and what a special evening it was. The campus and library were transformed into a cozy Reading Camp, complete with trees, a tent, and a cozy "campfire" where students could listen to stories.
The Multi-Purpose Room featured wonderful reading activities with plenty of take-home materials, and students even had the opportunity to read “under the stars” in our picnic area.
Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to make this evening such a success. A special thank you to Ms. Gil and Ms. Jain-Sharma, to teachers whose whose creativity and dedication helped bring this event to life. We are also grateful to our PTA for their generosity and volunteers who supported the event.
A special thank you to Sandeep for jumping in at the last minute to help set up the outdoor lights and even pick up pizza for the volunteers. Our high school student volunteers were also a tremendous help throughout the evening.
Events like these truly highlight Parkmont's love for reading and the strength and spirit of the Parkmont community.
